From a recent drive through the White Mountains. Every year, it’s a must, and every year my heart is so filled when we do it. This time of year is just such a fleeting gift. Hope you are enjoying it wherever you are.
Some weekend reading…
We’re starting Jodi’s Native People’s Study this week, and I’m really excited. So far, we’ve just been doing reading aloud, math, and language arts mostly — so I’m looking forward to digging deeper into a specific study for a bit. I’ve put holds on all the books from the library, and I ordered this map. Just looking at the map, I know I’m going to learn some much-needed history myself.
Best hard ciders, 2020. she writes as she drinks a Citizen Cider — dry hopped, specifically the Lake Hopper.
I really love all the colors in this, and have been using it all week.
I like this fleece a lot.
My uniform lately is… cozy. As such, my search terms if I am looking to add a sweater to my collection: turtleneck sweater. I really love this one.
Food52 at Nordstrom! I love them. And from their collection, these are an amazing alternative to plastic.
You remember my Ugg Alena slippers that I wear EVERY DAY ALL WINTER LONG AND HAVE FOR YEARS NOW? I think Ugg stopped making them. I replace them about every 3 years or so, and now I can only find them in a few sizes (all too small) and at only a few shops. Why! These may be a good stand in but I’m curious if anyone has tried them?
I have wondered more than once recently, “Why is Dreams trending right now?” Finally googled it and got the answer. To be fair, it’s a great song (so are so many of their songs– in fact, listening to Gypsy as we speak).
This isn’t new, but sometimes I really like these 73 questions.
This lentil soup is in the instant pot right now, and I think the smoked paprika is going to make it next level.
One of the best things I’ve seen on Instagram in a long while. Remaining deadpan throughout — brilliant.
Ooh, these cords in that brown. (50% off today)
I’m trying this based on the description alone–namely, that it’s not cakey like most cookie recipes that have pumpkin in them!
I might make these caramel apple slices with the boys this week — but with the caramel recipe here!
See you next week!

Girl. Time to switch to LL Bean’s Wicked Good Slippers line. They are so soft and conform to your foot and you’ll never take them off. There’s a bunch of styles, this one looks similar to your previous Uggs and I can personally endorse these:

I don’t like them as much! (I know. I am very particular about my slippers.) I also really love the rubber sole of the Ugg ones!

I need slippers too! And had been eyeing the exact same ones. I have had LL bean forever but I don’t love them. Would love to hear if you get any amazing suggestions!

For slippers have you tried Halflingers? I feel about them the same way that you talk about your Uggs, but I’ve only had 2 pair over the last 10 years because they are nearly indestructible – I even wear them outside to the grocery store, etc.

I’ve never tried them! I do like them but the cozy inside of the uggs cannot be beeeeat!
