Hi! It’s been quiet here. A lot on my mind and in my heart, which always makes me go sort of quiet, so figuring out this space feels extra challenging. But, I’m not going anywhere! I value this space so much, and I love my readers too much too. Thanks for sticking around. Hope you guys are doing well.
Making: last night, anyway, I made BBQ pulled pork and coleslaw sandwiches. So easy, and a crowd-pleaser; based loosely on this recipe… though, for sure loosely as we are away from home and I didn’t have much by way of spices so BBQ sauce and water was about all! (Still good!)
Reading: three books, simultaneously at the moment. This one on the problem of evil, this one on racial history, and this one on full of insight that Glennon delivers so well.
Wanting: to figure out how to navigate the current culture we’re living in the best I can
Watching: nothing, at the moment. But I’m ready to watch 13th once I’m back home
Listening: Brene Brown and Austin Channing Brown podcast
Wishing: our world was more peaceful for all
Enjoying: time with my family in the Hudson Valley
Loving: this top, for over bathing suits at the beach
Hoping: to figure out our coming school year… more on this later.
Needing: Time. More quiet time, to do all the things one can do in quiet time.
Feeling: Nostalgic; celebrating my parents’ 50th while here. Looking through old pictures, notes I wrote my Mom and Dad as a kid and young adult, and nostalgia follows
Wearing: this hat, over and over
How about you?

~doing: much of nothing really
~mood: bare feet in the warm Sicilian sand
~selfish worrying: how do I get my baby back from the US with this totally understandable travel ban ? (please ware masks my American friends, please. You too Steven)
~weird sensual obsession : checking the word ‘cashmere’ on H&M every other day, and it’s not even July yet. Although I need to point out here that there is nothing like the feeling of a 100% cashmere jogger when strolling on a Sicilian beach at sunset. Just saying.
~Finding a purpose in life these days: reading and learning, learning is the only way for me.
Love you Hunts

How lovely to read from you again here , I value this place a lot too ♥
We finished our first home schooling and telecommuting term and now school’s off for summer, the weather is sunny, warm and thankfully not too hot already so we finally can spend lots of time in the garden or forest, at lakes, keeping close as a family and still a bit distant from others though we had a few lovely reunions, picking cherries, and eating peaches all day and having lots of barbecues, so less meal planning worries too. I’m reading “Stamped from the Beginnig” by Ibram X. Kendi, “Deutschland Schwarz Weiß” by Noah Sow and hopefully learning so much.
Hope you have a lovely time with your family and congratulations on your parents anniversary.
