It’s Friday! But suddenly Friday is just like a Monday, a Tuesday, a Saturday… even so… get on a Zoom happy hour with your friends, and watch a good movie tonight. We’re still slowly but surely getting things together in our house for the bedroom re do, and taking everything else in life one day at a time. What other choice do we have? (plant wall! It’s beautiful, isn’t it?)
Some weekend reading…
Ordered and can’t wait to have it in my hands this November.
Are you watching Little Fires Everywhere? It is so intense. It’s such a messy and convoluted tangle these womens’ lives have become and I find myself texting my friends afterwards to talk about it.
Of the various homeschool resources there were at our fingertips (most of which I didn’t look into and am still curious about), Mo Willems has been a good one. I’d hear Parker giggling at him and come over to watch the most quirky, endearing man doodling there on the screen for kids all around the world. Thanks so much, Mo. And also, when you volunteered to do this Lunch Doodle thing, did you expect you’d be doing it like, forever? (Any resources I definitely should not miss?)
These jeans are awesome and are 40% off. P.S. All jeans $75 here for a limited time.
I’ve seen Kiwi Crates for years, it feels, but given this homeschool thing we’re all doing, I decided to sign up for a few months for Anders. I got the one for 5-8 year olds, though, hoping it will keep both boys entertained! Also, I was sure to put Anders name on it–so thrilling to be a little kid and get mail addressed to you!
I’ve never been much of a pink girl, but this rug! I’m loving so many things at this site for the bedroom re-do. Did you see their collaboration with Rifle Paper? That’s beautiful too.
There may not be physical Easter services or mass being held, but we can still celebrate that special day with our families. I put together a few Easter ideas in my Amazon store if you need any.
In this quarantine, with everyone home all the time, I’m doing more cooking (and with Lindsey and William home all the time, making larger quantities!). This was a crowd pleaser. I got a 5-lb pork butt. Enough leftovers for the next day too. I am always pleased at the price of pork butt — it’s such a cheaper cut of meat than others. You may have to trim some fat off first! (Also–instant pot dinner wins!)
If pot roast is your thing, and you’re digging comfort food as much as I am right now, this is where it’s at. I actually have a turkey that I bought from Costco in the freezer downstairs — it’s been there for quite some time — and now might be the time to actually thaw it and make it. Turkey for days!
Restocked some of my favorite tees yesterday with J.Crew’s big sale. White and navy blue. And I will wear them over and over again.
Are you wearing a mask when you go out? I went to the grocery store yesterday for the first time in awhile and was surprised to see more masks than not.
Hope you guys are hanging in there.

I wore a mask for the first time a couple of days ago. I wanted people around me to feel more comfortable in case I’m asymptomatic but still spreading it. The mask also helped me to not touch my face! I’d say about 60% of people were wearing masks. (I’m in the SF Bay Area, which went on lockdown earlier.)

You should totally try this recipe. The gravy from the drippings is delicious!!!!! My son said he’d take a bath in it… he’s 8… it didn’t quite make sense but I think I got the gist. I just use a chuck roast. No need to buy prime rib.

Andrea- we have a prime rib in our freezer. I will try this! Thanks for the recommendation!

Oh that plant wall.
I checked into Kiwi Crates following this post- anxious time hear how Anders likes them. I think it’s a bit expensive for my 3 year old and his attention span, but my daughter is 6- she could get into this.

*Anxious to hear

I agree! But I did get 50% off my first month (so $9.95!).

A local art studio in Hamilton called Artcie is posting delightful short guided drawing lessons to their Instagram account. They are only 5-10 minutes long but we have spent 30-60 minutes on each adding details, coloring/painting, making multiple, etc. They touch on a variety of art concepts, but provide a lot of room for creativity and are accessible for all (I’ve personally really enjoyed doing them myself). Top choice thus far for quarantine activities. Hope y’all are hanging in there!

Ooh thank you Lisa!
