Heading into another weekend, and forgetting what day is what. Without the typical routine, a Monday is a Wednesday is a Saturday. They all run into each other. How are you guys doing? Steve and I are hoping to do a pseudo date night this weekend while supporting a small business via takeout. We’ve had so little alone time with four kids of all ages home all the time. Have you done any “date nights” since this all began? {The above photo from here}
Some weekend reading…
I’ve had my eye on these throws and they’re 40% off now. I love the marigold color.
Newly distracted by homesteading dreams, especially when my sister pointed out that this beautiful place in Vermont is on the market. Isn’t it lovely?
Greenery on the brain — a nice distraction from the world right now. These planters are so pretty and are on sale.
What are the chances that I can stencil our ugly bathroom floors while in quarantine without wanting to off myself? So impressed by the way this project turned out. (But seriously, does the paint truly stay on over time?! Has anyone else tried this?)
Hot damn, my favorite summer hat is 45% off! (And coronavirus or not, summer is still coming.)
Are you watching Tiger King? We’re not but we are watching Hunters and it’s interesting.
A pretty plant mister.
All new orders can get 20% off right now when you shop by the end of the month at Beautycounter. A great time to find a good skincare routine, if I do say so myself. Message me if you’re interested and have any questions.
I’ve spent more hours than I care to admit looking for a rug for the guest room (a small, skinny room where a 9×7 is really the only one that makes sense has proven a nearly impossible feat!), and now I think I’m onto nightstands. Steve thinks we need one on each side, but being such a small room, I think one side is okay. Thoughts? (P.S. This mix and match nightstand post by Emily Henderson is a fun one.)
This top (40% off), high waisted jeans, and flip flops. Come at me, warmer weather.
I am not sure why I haven’t made a classic tater tot hot dish at this point in my life but there’s no time like pandemic to remedy that situation.
DIY cardboard village. This is cute.
This shaving cream marbling art project looks cool — and has stuff a lot of us have in our homes already.
I love a loaded salad, so why don’t I make them myself more often? I remember towards the end of our first trip to Italy together when it was just the two of us, by the end I was desperate for a huge salad “loaded with stuff” is how I put it. Italians are good at a million things, but their restaurants seem to lack oversized, topping-heavy salads. I love the combos that places like Sweetgreen put together that I wouldn’t have necessarily thought to put on a salad. This looks like a nice recipe. I’m going to try some more this week and hopefully share some good combos.
If you have it in you, send a prayer of peace to this beautiful family after they received the most difficult news ever about their little Stevie. I read their story a few nights ago and haven’t stopped thinking about them since. It is unbearable.
Looking forward to some hiking in the White Mountains soon. Have you been? It’s worth a trip. (Still thinking about Arethusa Falls and planning that hike soon.)
Hope you’re all continuing to hang in there.

I really like Molly Yen’s book and had never read her blog. I came across this book at my library after and was inspired to make a casserole 🙂 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075G4XYX3/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1
