It’s been a week! Does anyone else feel that way? There’s a lot online right now that’s making me want to unplug and dig deep in home life, my children, and a quiet space. There’s some stress on the home front that is, no doubt, contributing to this feeling as well. Hope you guys are keeping your heads above water, and finding the solace you need when you need it!
Some weekend reading…
I just had to reorder this product. You know it’s true love, when you completely run out of something. I love it all year long, but I especially love it in the summer.
This GOT meme was truly inspiring.
I had this recently and it was one of the most delicious meals I’ve had in a long time. (Our foodie friend made it for us; now to recreate it…)
Theories and more theories about the final season of GOT. One thing I must say, for those who are mourning the loss of GOT, time to watch The Last Kingdom!!!
Reading this book and I’m pretty sure it’ll blow my mind.
This is a fantastic suit for summer–and great sun coverage too.
I am loving this hat in navy.
Anyone have great hair masks/conditioning treatment recommendations? I was using this one but I just can’t justify the cost, and I’m wondering if there’s a good one that’s not as much (or at least is larger for the price!).
I love this simple bathroom console. I also love the idea of one big mirror instead of two.
This is the deodorant I use, and I really like it. Also, no baking soda, which can irritate some.
What’s happening in Alabama is a complicated issue for me, as I consider myself pro-life–all life (not just pro-birth)–but also absolutely certain that what’s happening there is not the answer. I haven’t felt like my thoughts on the matter belong in either party for quite some time now. Government overreach into our personal lives is really troubling to me. I know I’m not saying much here, but I also didn’t want to say nothing. I’m struggling with this bill, and other government mandates, like a lot of you.
Jimmy, The Who, and The Roots doing Won’t Get Fooled Again. Jimmy has the best job ever (okay, tied number one with Ellen who basically is a joy-bringer). I want to hang out with The Who!
A place like this in Thailand for $66 a night? Why are we not all living in Thailand?
Okay, that’s all for now. Let’s unplug, take a rest, and see you back here next week.

I think a person (man or woman) can oppose abortion for themselves (as a personal choice). However, to then think it is okay to have the government make that choice for a woman is very very troubling to me. I am quite certain of my thoughts on this matter but I am respectful of all points of view.

Agree – I’m very grateful that I haven’t been put into a position where I had to make that choice, but I’m 100% certain that I should be the one to make that choice with my healthcare provider. Not the government’s choice. I’d insert a heart emoji here if I could. 😉

I’m with you on the pro-all life front. To see all of my conservative friends celebrate the law while also slamming those that want health care affordable/celebrating the wall/etc. drives me completely insane. If you aren’t pro-life on all fronts, you aren’t pro-life at all.
I may have to give that deodorant a try. My hormones shifted and I straight up stink. None of the natural deodorants are quite cutting it, though I do like crystal the most right now. I love that it’s affordable and at Target, too.

On the bill in Alabama – complicated, indeed. It seems to me intended less to solve a problem and more as part of a political agenda to stir up emotion ahead of the 2020 campaigns. That’s pretty disappointing to me.
On hair – I’ve used a mask of castor, olive, lavender & tea tree oils for a few months to promote growth/thickness, and not only has it worked brilliantly for that, my hair softer and more bouyant (as long as I’m diligent to wash & rinse it out well!)

I love the coconut hair mask from Trader Joe’s. I am not a typical hair mask user so not sure how it compares to others, but I personally think it’s fabulous!
More importantly, thank you for acknowledging Alabama. There’s nothing wrong with being at a loss for commentary, but I agree that it is too important to just ignore. I have a different opinion than yours but still very much appreciate what you wrote.

Yes, it’s been a mixed week, with some very high highs but also the very opposite and I’m longing for some quite mid-level weeks (preferably with access to the sea, forests and mountains in nice weather 😉 ) Wishing you all some relieve of the stress and strength and love to get through.

Aussie 3 minute miracle works really well. I use it to deep condition my curls. I bought a bunch of cheap shower caps (I think Sally Beauty calls them color caps) so I can leave it on longer while I finish showering.
