Spring cleaning is happening, in my house and in my head. I feel like I lack the mental space sometimes for blogging amidst the drudges of winter. I hibernate–no cave, but my electric blanket suffices. So come the longer light, the climbing temps, I’m back in it. Or at least attempting to be. Creativity starting to return. It’s like my mental space is a reflection of the plant life outside. Brown and sparse, sometimes covered in snow. And then… there’s spring.
I’m feeling inspired lately. Inspired by what? Inspired by podcasts… by my sister attending a Wim Hoff method training… by springier vegetables… by the new Spindrift Arnold Palmer flavor… by focusing my efforts in meaningful ways and places… by the vulnerability shown at a conference I was at last weekend… by lavender and lime diffusing in my living room… by these Instagram accounts I come across with a family living permanently in an RV, albeit a beautiful one. I’m also inspired to rewatch all of Game of Thrones before the next (and final, dammit) season begins. Inspiration runs the gamut, really.
We’re going camping this spring, and I am beyond excited to get relatively off the grid with my family and drive north. Fresh air and no wifi sounds just about perfect. Back to what’s inspiring me again for a quick second–pictures of the outdoors! National parks! Trips on the open road! Major inspiration. Are you sensing a theme? RV. OUTDOORS. NO WIFI. OPEN SPACES. GAME OF THRONES. The hills are aliiiiive!
I’ve been reading Michelle Obama’s book, like so many of you, lately and–stay with me now, I’m not about to get political–I just really love how candidly she speaks of her marriage, the things that frustrated her about Barack, how she had to put so many of her own desires both professionally and personally on the back burner to make way for him to pursue his. No doubt parts of her story are something of a universal one, but maybe we don’t talk about it enough. I think I’m energized (nay, inspired!) by vulnerability. Okay, I’ve got an Anders-badger heckling behind me, very much over his mother trying to make last minute edits to this blog post or answer Voxers on her iPhone, a rainy day ahead, and a need for something to do. Must sign off now, but thanks for sticking around guys, despite the fact that I’ve been so in and out. Blogging will always trump Instagram for me. This is the meat and potatoes, and the Instagram feels like fluff. I won’t let it die! You with me?!A few things I love right now, as it pertains to these photos: this top, forever and always, these adorable cropped pants, the beautiful jewelry — the choker and earrings from Heir Raleigh (BRIDGET20 for 20% off!), and the longer necklace from Tiny Tags, and the lipgloss in Bare Shimmer and lipstick in Lily, both Beautycounter.

I’m inspired by that sunshine pouring into your kitchen! Keep the blogging alive. I’ve been seeing so many bloggers-turned-Instagrammers slowly shifting back to their blogs and it makes me happy!

I can not read posts like this and not feel touched, inspired or comforted and grateful, for having done so, so as long as you feel like blogging I’m pretty sure, I will be reading. And yes, fresh air, nature and no wifi sounds perfect – I hope you all have a lovely time and best memories! Also, you look stunning ♥

YES to the blog! I just bought a site for mine, and have been second guessing myself. So many people say blogs are dead and that scared me. But, danget, I love reading blogs. Instagram is too fluffy, I wholeheartedly agree.

Love this. I’ve been on a long blogging hiatus and the seasons really affect my thinking as well… hoping my thoughts might come back to life with the plants and maybe I’ll get back to it. Also, those pants look incredible on you! Not usually a fan of the cropped look myself 🙂

Love your blog! I visit it often when I need reminders of what’s real, want space to be reflective, inspired and be reminded of humanity and its goodness. Love those jeans too!

Your blog makes me happy and peaceful both — really, no matter what subject you’re writing about. It’s beautiful, Bridget; I always love coming here. Matters not how often you post — I love that you do you and just post when you’re feelin’ it. And all of us enjoy your words so much — thank you for sharing them.
The jewelry is LOVELY! Heir Raleigh FTW! I’ve also loved everything I’ve gotten from Haiti’s Jewels, and have ordered from them several times after you introduced them to us a while ago.
Have a wonderful weekend.
