February. It’s when my browser is permanently open to Google Flights, Airbnb, or real estate in Arizona. Take your pick. My robe is never off my body (but guys, I got a new one for Valentine’s Day and it might be THE ONE.), I make tea every afternoon, I’m fighting the urge to keep the TV on all day, I’m on constant watch for sickness to arrive as an unwelcome guest, and I can go without seeing the sunshine for a full 24 (sometimes longer) hours at a time. I’ve discovered that I am solar-powered. Even if it’s cold, just let that sun shine! Some things that are definitely helping this year is consistent working out, but it’s been a few days and I’m not sure I’m going to get it in today… Trying to make the best of it by capitalizing on the outdoor activities that we can! Like ice skating! I went to a used sports equipment place in New Hampshire a few weeks ago and got two pairs of decent skates for the boys for $45. They’re loving it. Especially Parker. We’ve gone a few times, and I hope to go a bunch more before the winter’s out. Those crates on the table are for assistance. Just bungee them together! Steve used to play ice hockey, so watching him skate around effortlessly is fun. Got outside on a recent sunny day to go stomping around the snow with Anders. So long as he’s in a snowsuit, I let him at it and he has so much fun. I dressed warm enough myself so I didn’t feel the need to rush him from place to place, but instead let him knock down icicles, stomp on ice, and go at his own pace. After the Patriots won the last superbowl, we decided we had to go to the parade in the city! Plus… it was 65 DEGREES! In February! So it just made sense. It was really fun–and we saw everyone! Brady, Gronk, Edelman, Belichick, and more… and like 15 feet away. Very exciting especially for Parker who’s been watching them on the TV for the past few years now. Looking up at me in the crowds. He’s so into it too. If ever he has idle time on the computer, I’ll hear an interview with Brady… some commentary on Belichick… whatever. He tries to engage me on the subject if there’s no one better around to talk to about it. I nod enthusiastically. It’s sort of cute. Perhaps the best thing to put on pasta ever is pesto. I loosely follow Ina’s pesto but I added a handful of spinach this time (you couldn’t tell), and I used only walnuts. So, so good and so good for you! All that raw garlic, fresh greens, olive oil, nuts!Perusing the LEGO magazine and their feet are looking very large, what the hell. At a Studio 54 party recently. I decided to wear roller skates day of and people asked my friend (who’s party it was) if “roller girl” was hired. LOL.A very serious bear. I did a quick makeup tutorial on my wellness IG–it’s in my highlights now with a bunch of other quickie makeup tips/tutorials. But right now Beautycounter is running a makeup special–free brush with purchase! We went into Boston yesterday for the day and probably my highlight was these two with their hot chocolates from Thinking Cup. Would you just look at them? They took it so seriously. I love adventuring with them (it helps that they’re really good at adventures!).
Hazards of walking while drinking.

That pesto is what dreams are made of. I wish my husband would eat it because I would be happy to have it at least once a week

I’ve always wanted to go to an outdoor ice skating rink! We have tons of indoor rinks here in Hong Kong that are available year round, but it doesn’t snow here so no outdoor ice skating for us. 🙁 It always looks so fun and festive! 🙂

That pesto looks like something I need to get my husband to cook for us and amazing that you broke out the roller skates to a non roller skate event (also my sister is an actor in Vancouver and works events just like that (picture Marilyn Monroe / an 80s pop star and a Canadian Mountie)!

Boston and ice skating (and getting a good deal on skates!), it all sounds so fun! I’m with you though on watching out for illness and being solar-powered, haha!

In the same realm as ice skating, but making a point to ski regularly throughout winter has been a game changer in our house. Family time, vitamin D, fresh air, exercise–it’s made my family look forward to our new england winters. Plus, it’s a lifetime family activity! Highly recommend.
