Labor Day weekend! I, for one, am grateful for the soft opening, if you will, of school this year. This full day transition has been hard on me (harder on me than on the first grader). We plan on soaking up the last of summer this weekend. What are you doing?
Some weekend reading…
52 places to go in 2018. I love articles like this. Travel dreams are my favorite kind.
Love this top, even for a date night.
John McCain’s farewell letter. So poignant, sad, and beautiful.
It’s possible I could live out the rest of my days happily in this charming cabin in the Lofoten islands.
The cotija and the lime got me.
Anyone been to the Portland Children’s Museum? Is it any good? (Did you see this? It may be influencing my interest in driving up there.)
This has been on repeat lately (and is a favorite movie of ours too).
Rates of teen depression and suicide have skyrocketed since 2011. It’s not an exaggeration to describe iGen as being on the brink of the worst mental-health crisis in decades. Much of this deterioration can be traced to their phones. This is an important read.
My favorite Etsy shop right now.
I’m going to try making my own pho with this recipe.
This post is speaking to me right now. There have been some things weighing heavy on my mind lately, and those coinciding with the start of school means a lot of emotions.
See you next week!

Portland, ME is beautiful. We went for the 4th of July and are already talking about going back. If you take your boys (or even if you don’t, we don’t have kids) I highly recommend the Mailboat Run at the Casco Bay Line Tours. The boat takes you to deliver mail to all the small islands via crane things like Amazon packages and fish. Its very fun and they give you the history of all the islands. Its twice a day and you can bring food and drink on. Very fun!
Make sure to sit in the front so you have the best view!

We’ve been and totally loved it! Just have never been to the children’s museum. Thanks for your feedback. I love the mailboat run idea!

FYI, Children’s Museum you linked is in Portland, OREGON. As a Pacific Northwest gal, I highly recommend it! (And check out Multnomah Fall!)

That pho recipe has got me craving a hot bowl of noodles now! Which is great since it’s dinner time where I live 🙂

I just went back to work after mat leave, putting my 4 mo and 4 yo into daycare, and the heartbreak and push/pull of motherhood is so strong. The rawness of your “motherhood has ruined me” post resonates.

oh amy… thinkking of you!

Bridget, I only discovered your blog a few months ago but I am always happy to find something new whenever I check in. I love your style of writing (and dressing) and your photography. Thank you also for the link to the Atlantic article. So important and scary. Best wishes from Germany!
