Easter weekend! I’m really looking forward to signing off and being with my people. Like a lot. I feel like I haven’t been very present lately and it’s gnawing at me. I hate when I’m not present enough as a Mom. The work/life balance is tough for me (and something I lay the guilt on thick for.)
Notes for the road…
I make this every year for Easter. We’re just not ham people.
Have any of you read this? I need better work boundaries (see my intro!), and to make better use of the time that I am working.
I’d really like to go to this place in Croatia. A lot.
These pillows are gorgeous. And I’m in desperate need of new throw pillows. (But where can I find them for less money?! Seriously, favorite resources?)
This was a really great article (those MSD students are impressing me left and right).
Saw this the other day in someone’s home and bought tissue paper to do the same. Bonus–much longer shelf life than my current tulips!
Newest product–and they’re compostable!
Going to do this easy science experiment with the boys this weekend.
Those are some views. I can’t wait to go to Nepal one day.
I bought them! And I love them. (And then Steve asked for a pair. So now we’re matching.)
Of course this happened. Good on Thailand for making that choice. (Do you remember the movie? I was truly blown away by the scenery and immediately googled (did I have google then? I think I did) where it was filmed.)
These brownies were seriously delicious. And easy. Dense over cakey. Had a hint of dark chocolate to them instead of being overly sweet. My new go-to.
See you next week!

Cost Plus World Market for cheap throw pillows — and all other adorable yet affordable home stuff!! That place is the best.

Ok-here’s my pillow (etc) secret. H & M Home. Not pillows as fancy as what you posted but I ordered 4 of the black and white graphic ones. So cheap and great quality. They are covers with zippers so can be washed (need that with my dirty feet kids who line to stand on them ??). You can buy the inserts on there too —also great quality and well priced. I have also ordered baskets and have my eye on some plates.

Just finally bought a pair of the Birks you love—I had the version without an ankle strap, but I’m so pumped to have the even-better ones! Woot!

Those are our favorite brownies and often repeated at our house. We keep the unsweetened chocolate on hand and everything else is already always in our kitchen. Honestly with their short cooktime, they’re ready faster and taste way better than boxed brownies!

exactly! i’m going to do the same!

Those Nepal views increase my “Fernweh” so much, but we are in the midst of some major house renovation process so I have to “instagram-travel” instead 😉
Happy Easter to you and yours ♥

Please share with us if you actually make those cherry blossoms! It’s so pretty but looks like such work!

I think I’m going to — but a scaled down version!

Pier 1 can make all your throw pillow dreams come true. I also make my own with cute fabric and a sewing machine.

I like to keep my throw pillow inserts and buy new cases on Etsy. I don’t have a particular shop to recommend, but there are some really beautiful fabric options on there!

For throw pillows I’ve found that Tuesday Morning has a ton of them and great prices. That and they also have a lot of small area rugs too. Oh and Society 6 has cute statement ‘artsy’ pillow cases that you can get to cover up old pillows.
