Easter’s around the corner, and maybe you’re already prepared, and maybe you’re not. (If the latter is you, you’ve come to the right place!) I’ve rounded up some of my favorite baskets and fillers today. And man, we already have baskets (similar to #4, from Target a couple years back), but that #6 is insanely cute to me right now. Here’s a few fillers I got for the kids, and a few things I’m still thinking about…
1. simple easter basket 2. linen blue bunny basket 3. pb kids basket
4. felt llama basket 5. decorative wire basket 6. felt carrot basket
1. p is for peter 2. hide and squeak eggs 3. 400 resusable easter stickers
4. easter egg play dough 5. wind up bunny and chick 6. jump rope
7. green toys gardening kit 8. colored pencils 9. easter bunny ears
10. nail polish 11. dino slippers
Sweet little toys sitting atop that paper Easter grass (Target has loads of the paper kind, in different colors) on Easter morning. What do you guys do to celebrate? In the coming days, we’ll dye Easter eggs, and make an Easter banner with some felt cut outs I got at Target yesterday. My Mom always had a stuffed animal for each of us that was in our basket every year–same one, and a specific one was in each of our baskets that only came out for Easter–and I loved that tradition. This little bunny might be a cute one to do that with my kids. And the past few years, I’ve made the same Easter brunch (number 5 on this list!) that keeps getting requested by Nathaniel, so I will probably stick with it! Fresh flowers, a spring wreath on the front door. We just need this snow to melt. As for the above, Anders is getting number 2 (I’ve heard good things about this toy.), and Parker is getting number 6 that I’m actually excited about using myself. Such a good workout! I got lots of Lindt chocolates to go in their baskets too… those mini ones in carrot, bug, bunny, and chick shapes. For the big kids–iTunes gift cards, or bath bombs, or nail polish usually go well! I actually just got William something just like this for his headphones. Another good option for a teen’s Easter basket.

I guess it’s different when you have BIG kids and LITTLE kids in the same family but “teen Easter basket” sounds a little crazy. We pushed this tradition for as long as we could but Easter baskets and egg hunts ended around age 11 or 12. Ditto for trick-or-treating. I think there’s something to be said for transitioning kids out of childhood vs. trying to make it as magical for them as it was when they were 5 or 6. Maybe William and Lindsey could hide the eggs for the littles or be in charge of the breakfast for all. Giving them age-appropriate ways to join in family fun vs. infantilizing them for the sake of the littles seems to make more sense.

They mainly get some chocolate, and maybe one other non-candy thing that they’d like. And then they do hide eggs for the little ones in the backyard. I’d hardly call it infantilizing them! (And, even if the little ones weren’t here, I think we’d still do some version of an Easter basket for them.)

My mom always gave Valentines gifts and Easter baskets thru high school and early college. Obviously the gifts were age appropriate the older we got. ( gift cards and candy all the way!! ) We loved it. Honestly I miss it now that I am an adult haha! I plan to do this for my littles for just as long. It’s just fun and sweet!!!

My mom did Easter baskets for my sister and me throughout our teen years and even into college. It’s still one of my favorite memories!

Had to comment. You sound like a great, loving mother and it is important to have family traditions, no matter the age.

Our tradition is that the Easter Bunny hides one big gift and sends the kids in a scavenger hunt to find it. Big kids have fun helping the little kids figure out the clues and then after wards they do an egg hunt ( not a tone of eggs but a few filled with candy!). Last year, the big gift was tennis rackets, another year some board games. This year I saw on your FB sale page the amazon Easter deals so I am doing an art supply theme with art stuff for the varying ages. I think it will be nice to have these fun new supplies right before spring break! I love hearing how other ppl celebrate!

My mom still does an Easter egg hunt for us- her adult children! It has money, gift cards, candy and mini alcohol bottles! Then she does a traditional hunt for the kids. I still make my 20 year old son a basket too! Kids can never be to old to have fun ?

I bought a VERY similar felt carrot basket at the Dollar Tree for $1 just for decor!
This is my daughters first Easter so I bought her a darling pbkids basket w The Peter Rabbit liner & her name on it. Thank you for the idea about using a special stuffed animal year after year. Love it!
