Weekend is here! I’m excited for it. I want to watch a movie tonight with the family (any family favorites that are free on Netflix or Prime right now??). And Sunday we’re hiking! I can’t wait. What are you guys up to?
Some weekend reading…
We finally replaced our old very worn out couch with one from this company. It is so much different in the space that I have to keep walking out of the room and back into it to try to see it with fresh eyes. I am not good with change. (That said, it is beautifully made.)
This isn’t new news, but it’s worth a reminder anyway. Beware of Instagram.
How to build a skincare routine. This was sort of fascinating. Also, would not have ever thought you needed to use a product for 6 weeks twice a day to see a difference. I’d be like two days? no difference? I give up.
Had the pleasure of meeting Kelsey last night after admiring her work for a long time. Insanely talented. If you’re in need of some graphic design…
My next cookbook. Flipped through it at my friend Janis‘ and wanted to make several things.
Beautycounter raves. And I just heard that this product is a favorite for kids and adults alike.
This is familiar. (Though, bless him, Steve is a lighter sleeper than I am!)
This apple crisp recipe looks awesome, and a little different from most. Might make it as we have loads of apples!
I love Emily’s house at Halloween.
This jacket is amazing.
Have a good weekend!

Have you watched The Stick Man on Netflix, based on the book? The same author as The Gruffalo, Gruffal’s Chile and Room in the Broom (which are also all avaialable on Netflix). It’s cute, not too long and a touch of Christmas. I also just watched A Man called Ove on prime. When I realized it was subtitles I almost turned away but I am glad I didn’t. It’s sweet and funny and sad. Plus subtitles mean you can’t multi task you have to give yourself over to watching it.

I haven’t, but I love the Gruffalo and Room on the Broom (both books and the movies!). Thanks!

I’m the same – two days, if there’s no change, it’s gone. Haha. What’s worse are products that make your skin go bad before they get good, like acne creams and such. Ugh!!

Thanks for sharing that Times article about Instagram. I am giving a talk to Freshman in Highschool tomorrow about navigating some of the challenges of High School and this is a great reference!

That recipe book looks uh-mazing! Thank you for sharing!
How are you enjoying the new couch?! We may be on the hunt for one again soon!
I also have a love hate relationship with instagram. When I find myself being sucked into the comparison game – i know i’ve spent too much time scrolling through picture-perfectly curated images.

I have made that apple crisp recipe (sadly now I am in the land of no sugar, na gluten, so it is out for me). It really is the BEST apple crisp I have ever eaten. Perhaps one day I will be able to eat it again. Meanwhile, you must try it!
