The other day, Anders and I came down to Parker already watching a cartoon. Anders exclaimed, “Joljeh!” (his name for Parker) and climbed on for cuddles. It was the sweetest.
Some weekend reading…
Game of Thrones’ costumes come from IKEA.
“My Husband and I sleep in separate bedrooms.” (This was really interesting to me, since Steve and I have pretty unconventional sleeping arrangements–co-sleeping, sleeping with separate with each kid, etc. It’s been musical beds for the past 6 years in a lot of ways, and I could totally understand the positives of a separate bedroom… while still very much loving my husband!)
Here’s what I wrote on FB, and it’s worth sharing here too: I’ve been following Ari “Danger” Schultz‘s story for several months now. Once I saw a video of him, absurdly cute, playing baseball at the hospital. I was hooked. Endearing and eager and so much of my own kids in him. I read every post his father wrote–a beautiful writer… honest, vulnerable, funny, and so full of love–and reading this most recent one was a gift. One of the most incredible testimonies of love, between this father and son. It’ll break your heart. And there’s a lot of things that can break your heart these days, but this one is just too special to pass up. Wishing this family peace and brighter days.
BLT Pasta Salad. Say no more.
This time, last year. Ugh! Their littleness.
This is the most perfect blouse.
So, first I read Angelina Jolie’s article in the latest Vanity Fair. It made me sort of sad. It references Brad Pitt’s GQ interview. So then, I switched over to that. (This was all at like midnight but I couldn’t stop.) Brad’s read super depressing and nihilistic to me. I am still sort of bummed over their breakup. (And I’m rolling my eyes more at myself than you ever could.) Have any of you read both? Do any of you even care anymore about this?! Am I alone???
I might be doing one wall of my living room with this wallpaper and I’m really not sure which one to pick! Anyone use this before? How to choose?!
Netflix in August. This is 80 slides long. Pour your coffee and stay awhile.
This late night viewing of GOT was really funny. (Also, this season has been SO DAMN GOOD.)
Best mascaras of all time. Why isn’t this one on the list?!
See you next week!

If you make the BLT pasta salad add the lettuce right before serving or allow people to add their own amount. For some reason the lettuce taste ‘funky’ if it sits for awhile!

That Brad Pitt interview was super depressing. And the photos that accompanied it were beyond bizarre to me.
Esther says
The photos! I was so distracted I could hardly read the interview. Thinking, “Doesn’t his neck hurt, twisted like that?” And, “Why is he upside-down?”

So bizarre.

We make a super similar BLT pasta salad at our house but add shredded chicken for extra protein. It really is delicious!
