My Mom, my older sister, and I after a barre class (aka ass-kicking). My parents are in town this weekend, and my Mom and I are going away for a night together. I’m excited (but also–first time leaving my Anders!). Then we’re celebrating my Dad’s birthday… he turned 70 in March! What are you up to?
Some weekend reading…
This is a beautifully written piece about a Temple University trauma doctor and gun violence.
The trailer for Handmaiden’s Tale is terrifying. Has anyone watched yet?
Isย Bachelor less real than it used to be? (I think it might be. I half-watched the last season. Am I growing up or is the show getting worse?)
I want these brussels sprouts.
“Engage! Engage!” I loved this Heineken commercial.
See you next week!

Yes, I agree! We watched all three episodes and they are excellent! Eerie but just close enough to stay with you. I hope everyone watches so it will be easy to discuss!

The Bachelor wasn’t real for me from the beginning, haha. Might have been because I watched UnREAL (you’ve GOT to watch that show. It’s like, Bachelor uncovered).

I’ve already watched the first three episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale and it’s super good-but also creepy (especially if you don’t know the storyline).
I love the pic of you and your mom and sister!
Have a great weekend!

You three are SO darn cute! Dangit. Makes me wish I had a sister :). Glad you have the blessing of so much joy in your family!
How do you like barre classes? Have been thinking of trying them — they sound so appealing! HARD — but appealing! ๐

I’ll admit. I skimmed a bit of the #vanlife article and then stopped reading so I may be missing the author’s point but…as a full-time “van lifer” with a real job (wedding photographer) that takes a lot of time/work/not glamorous effort, I think more of us are in it for the adventure, simple life, and beauty of owning next to nothing than the ones who get the most attention – “influencers.” I’ll admit, I have a successful instagram account that takes a lot of my time, and I truly don’t know if our business would’ve expanded outside of our home state to the West like it did without social media (in fact, I know it wouldn’t have), but I definitely don’t consider it a “lifestyle brand.” There are way too many shitty nights (peeing in a jug while stealth camping, getting kicked out of a site and driving two hours to the next option at midnight, freezing tits in the winter, just to name a few) for this to be a spoiled millennial thing ๐ In my humble opinion!

thanks for your perspective. and it makes sense!
