1// Big Little Lies. Yeah, me and every other women in America. But seriously. At first I thought some of the characters were a little cheesy (as well as the flash forwards with people talking about “the event”) but then I got into it hook, line, sinker. So bummed that it’s over. For those not familiar, it’s a six-episode miniseries based on this book. The last episode has already aired, so you can catch all 6 on HBO now. What will replace BLL on my Sunday night? (Already watch Girls.) (Oh. And that last episode of Girls. Have so many thoughts. Should we have a Girls discussion group over on Facebook?)
2// This oil. It sinks into the skin soooo nicely and smells so good. I also use a little drop on my fingertips for stubborn eye makeup (often, the next morning; there’s always some leftover!).
3// This simple one-piece. It’s so pretty.
4// Simple dinners of meat with a few sides. I usually start doing this when the weather turns (and guys! I think it’s happening!! I sat outside yesterday with a book, no jacket, in the sun as the boys played. I’d forgotten what sun felt like on my face.) and they’re always family favorites. Last night’s was marinated chicken, roasted brussels sprouts and fingerling potatoes, and this amazing bread from Beach Pea bakery (the fougasse; if you live nearby, get it!! Our friend Jenny’s brought this to us before and we always devour it.). Another favorite: marinated steak tips and sautéed string beans. So simple, so delicious.
5// A mid-day “mama” latte. Are you anything like me? Half (if I’m lucky) a cup of coffee down the hatch before it’s cold with all the (wonderful) interruptions of diapers, breakfasts (if your kids are anything like mine who eat more from 7-11 am then they do the rest of the day combined–so we eat about 4 breakfasts in this house), etc. And I’m just not that keen on reheated coffee. Enter the mid-day latte. Black tea, foamed milk, and honey. A sprinkle of cinnamon if you fancy. I use this to foam my milk.

I really want to start Big Little Lies, but only six episodes? Are they trying to torture us? I don’t want to be left yearning for more after I finish it in one day!

It’s seven episodes, but who’s counting 😉
You inspired me to make a London Fog latte and now I’m obsessed, so thanks for that. I like it with vanilla sugar. SO GOOD.
That episode of Girls was great. I have nothing insightful to add, but it was such a satisfying resolution for those two.
And speaking of sheet pan dinners, Smitten Kitchen’s chicken tikka sheet pan dinner is a new favorite around here. I don’t know if your little ones like a lot of spices, but I would highly recommend trying it.

I am pretty sure BLL was 7 episodes. My husband and I enjoyed it so much, but it stressed me out at the same time–I was so invested!

Love that one piece. I wonder if I’d be comfortable showing off that much of my butt. And, by that I mean, would I constantly feel like it’s riding up my crack all day? I could care less about who sees it. LOL. The important things, right?

Try The Americans! Man I love that show.

I just picked up the Big Little Lies book at a book sale for only $3 (score!) and am excited to get in on the hype that way. From the size of the book and the pace of my reading though, I think I’ll finish it and be able to weigh in on conversations only about a year late. 🙂

I am dying to watch this! I love Reese with my whole heart.
P.S. I keep seeing your posts about the weather and thinking that some New Englanders definitely sold their souls for the Super Bowl win and now you’re paying for it 😉 I’m still not over it. Go Broncos!

If you’re looking for a new series after BLL watch Love, Top of the Lake, or Broadchurch (Netflix) Catastrophe or Fleabag (on amazon)
Also Nicole Kidman will be in season 2 if Top of the Lake 🙂
