New England in the fall! Come visit! Anyway, what are you up to this weekend? We’re going to a fall/Halloween sort of party that promises butternut squash soup and lots of wine (perfect). I’d like to watch a Halloween movie with the kids too, any recommendations? Hope you have a good one!
For some weekend reading…
That Sugar Film. I can’t wait to see this.
I go to the library every other week with the boys and I’m tired of not knowing what books to grab. I noted a bunch of titles from this article. One of our favorites was Sylvester and the Magic Pebble (and another by the same author: Doctor DeSoto!). {some more of our favorites!}
The trending haircuts. (I like number 15.)
Canadians think we’re already great!
I’ve bought this sweatshirt for two of my kids in the past–Lindsey and Parker–and it’s so well-made, looks new no matter how many times I wash it, and is super thick and warm (cost per wear ends up low–my justification!). Each have been passed on and are still in such good shape.
Carrie Bradshaw’s boyfriends ranked. (Number 1 is so appropriate.)
This is one of the easiest lentil soups, and it’s really yummy. I made it the other day with egg noodles instead and added two chicken breasts, shredded.

Hocus Pocus of course 🙂 Even at 31, i’m always so excited to watch it. Lame, i know.

Not lame. I loved that movie, and I’m not sure William and Lindsey have even seen it! Thanks for the suggestion.

15 is nice – I also like 10 because “not so sure about bangs” here 😉
I started going back to Uni this week to finally get the degree I don’t have yet and felt a bit old-ish around all the 19/20 ones – so I need to recover from that (I think wine will be involved in that too ;)) And thanks a lot for all the dinner inspirations and recipes lately, that is so helpful! Have a good weekend too!

Oh my gosh, what a strange feeling! You deserve more than one glass tonight.

A suggestion for you – follow children’s book accounts on instagram! I’m a former 1st grade teacher and that’s how I get my inspiration for books to put on hold for my kids at the library. My favorites are @foxandgoatstories, @kidsbookstagram, @kids.books.we.love, @tinyreaders, @the.book.report, @happily.ever.elephants, @hereweeread, and my account is @lovely.little.reads. Happy reading!

We love Katy and the Big Snow! I don’t know the others, though. Thank you!

I think Halloweentown (a Disney Channel original movie) is pretty kid-appropriate. It’s majorly cheesy but that’s why I love it. Also, I wonder if Parker would be into Goosebumps??
