Our date nights don’t come around with the same frequency that they used to. You could say that makes them all the sweeter when they do. One of the best parts of date nights for me is that it’s a night when I don’t have to cook dinner–the kids can do frozen pizza at home (They’re thrilled.), and I get to order off a menu (I’m thrilled.). I’m a little ashamed to admit it, but it’s a habit at this point, so I guess I’ll come clean: I almost always (always) google the menu of the place we’re going beforehand. And, I generally have a pretty good idea of what I’m going to order before we even arrive. Is that embarrassing? I call it being efficient. Waiter arrives: have you had a look at the menu? Me: Sure have, three hours ago. I’ll have the chicken. These Rockport heels are so comfortable. I am not a regular heels-wearer and I feel a little like a poser when I do wear them. I am not the best at walking in them, and I often find that my feet end up hurting too early in the evening. These ones have this serious cushioning, like you’d find in a sneaker, and they’re the most beautiful color–they’re the cabernet boa to be exact. No hurting feet! Steve said the same of his shoes–the Birch Lake Cap Toe. Aside from all that, they’re both attractive shoes. More important to me than to Steve, yes, but I’m glad they fit that bill too. I love them with the black and tan happening in the rest of my outfit (one of my favorite color combos ever).
And now for some low-light iPhone pictures of our fooooooood! Those meatballs on the left WERE OUT OF THIS WORLD. Still thinking about them today. And that crispy eggplant stack on the right was pretty darn delicious too. It had slices of broiled tomatoes between each piece. Look at those parm shavings! My mouth is now watering. Then I had this butternut squash ravioli in a creamy sage dressing. Yummmm. Steve got chicken parm. We really loved our meal and we really love our date nights.

I do the exact same – googling menus in advance. I think it’s both efficient AND makes me more excited.

My fiance does that, too. But like…for every place ever. Even if we’ve been there one thousand times and he gets the same thing every. single. time.

Even at 44 years old, I’m still a picky eater so I ALWAYS check the menu online before eating somewhere. It’s like my own little security blanket. 😉

I always scout the menu before heading to a new restaurant, I don’t like the disappointing surprise of nothing I fancy being available!! Haha
