There’s not a flower that declares itself full of summer more than the sunflower. And yet, these ones waited until the very end, the last trickling days when the mornings require sweatshirts and the evenings tea, to show themselves. It’s like one last little hurrah before the leaves start to change. Eight days left, and these beauties have only just arrived. Isn’t this a beautiful picture of Lindsey?Not only do they delay their arrival but once they’re here it’s short lived. I’ve been telling Steve we had to do it–and at sunset–so finally the evening was right, dinner was done early, and off we went. It’s really amazing, coming upon this sprawling field full of dancing sunflowers. They are just beautiful. Kids were in their pajamas (actually, Parker didn’t get out of his all day), and were tucked in as soon as we came home. They loved running through them. Anders could’ve gotten lost if we didn’t keep a close eye. They’re all taller than he is! It was like a huge maze for a little guy. This is Parker asking to take pictures with my camera. He’s loving it lately, and I love seeing what he comes up with. {two years ago at the same sunflower field}

Agreed…Lindsey is morphing into a stunning young lady. I remember that rainbow cake you made for her what, 10th birthday? She looks like she’s your daughter too so how fun is that? Is she borrowing your clothes yet?
bridget says
