The boys’ room is coming along. I’m the slowest person when it comes to decorating. Especially the last few details. I bang it out–beds, bedding, lamps, curtains, and then I wait foooooreeeeeverrrrr to nail the last three frames onto the wall. So, here we are, it’s almost there, if I could just pick up that hammer and make a commitment, we’ll be finished. Anyhow, it’s become quite the cozy room. We keep a lot of their toys up there too, getting them off the first floor, so it’s another place to play. When Parker wants to play something with small pieces that Anders might get into, or just wants some alone time, he heads up there to play by himself. Sometimes I yell up there after nearly an hour, just to check on him. The typical scene after he’s finished is a very straight line of all of his cars. It wouldn’t last one second with Anders-badger nearby. It’s got a soft rug down, with extra padding underneath, and lots of various throw pillows so it’s a good lounging space too. And, on this particular day, it was made cozier still by our Bombas. (kind sponsors!).
More than the socks itself, Bombas as a company is the most impressive: they’ve donated over 900,000 socks to homeless shelters since launching in October 2013–and, news to me, socks are the number one most requested item of homeless shelters. They have a Toms-like mission in that for every pair purchased, another is donated. I love that. Plus, they are really comfortable. My favorite part is that there’s no stitching above the toe line. I hate when that rubs funny. But that center part where you see the honeycomb design? It’s extra snug for this nice arch support. And they’re just really soft, and the right thickness–they’re not going to get a hole in them, but they’re not going to make your shoes feel too snug when they’re on either.
They’ve got about a million types and colors now too. Ankle, the no-show invisible socks, calf socks, merino wool socks, the new colorful marled ankle socks, a slightly higher ankle (called “quarters” if we’re being technical). Steve, who got to be in on the Bombas action, said, “These are the nicest socks I’ve ever worn.” He’s going to have to fight William for the calf ones (them calf socks are all the rage with the youths these days). So there you have it.
Use code TALES for 20% off on your order of any size. Check them all out here (especially the marls calf. Love those.).

What is it about new socks that feels so cozy?? 🙂

False advertising. This isn't a tour of the boys new room, it's an ad for socks. At least give the room tour with it!
