Well, these are beautiful.
My favorite thing to order at Chipotle these days is a carnitas burrito bowl. I’m going to try to replicate this.
Steve and I saw The Revenant last week. I couldn’t stop thinking or talking about it for a good two days afterwards. Here’s a 44-minute behind the scenes clip.
44 places you wish you could nap right now. These are amazing.
Stephen Colbert does Palinese. Lol.
Actual handwriting rings. I love this idea. (Maybe your name written by Mom or Dad?)
Did you watch 60 Minutes a few weeks back on Agromafia and olive oil? If not, allow me: 70-80% of the olive oil on our grocery store shelves isn’t olive oil at all! It’s a vegetable oil with chlorophyll (that you’re paying premium prices for). Kirkland in the glass bottle is a reputable one, and there’s a few others! (We did the smell test at home; Kirkland vs. the grocery store one we had — HUGE difference.)
Elvis Presley’s favorite pound cake.
See you next week!

PSA: we love burrito bowls. And tacos. And chimichangas and just about anything involving carnitas. This is THE recipe to make! http://www.mykitchenescapades.com/2012/11/pork-carnitas.html
Brown the meat first though. It's totally necessary. And this is a long recipe but it is so worth it!

Just looked at the 44 places to take a nap with my friend and we sighed and oohed and aahed. Only one more class left today before the weekend! Then a quick nap 🙂

Dang! I never noticed a difference in types of olive oils until I taste tested a bunch at a company who makes their own in Fort Collins this summer. Want to look into that, because they can be so tasty and flavorful, but are usually drab and taste more like canola oil.

Agromafia!?! Who even knew? Have you ever read Under the Tuscan Sun? This makes me think of how she grew her own olive trees. Pretty sure that's out of the question for my climate…but oh…I'm so sad!!!

Love Chipotle but I've been hesitant to eat there since all their food borne illness outbreaks recently. Hopefully, they get that fixed so I can go back! Making it myself is just not as good as the real thing!
I found out about olive oil a few years ago and was shocked that this is allowed to go on. It is unbelievable to me that a bottle can say "extra virgin olive oil" on it and actually not be that at all. I have been buying olive oil from The California Olive Ranch. It was recommended as one of the authentic olive oils and is available in a few different grocery stores around me.

Hahaha love that you wrote about the olive oil. My husband has been on a rant about this for weeks now. Smelling different oils has been my latest forced hobby.

Steve and I saved our bottle of NOT olive oil and we whip the two out now for friends. We're calling it our party trick.

I love following your posts! We lived in Saratoga Springs, New York for about a year and downtown there was a olive oil store. It is really amazing what a difference there is between the "real stuff" and the stuff at grocery stores!

Bridget! I realize I am WEEKS late in seeing this, but thanks so much for linking to my carnitas! And we also use Kirkland olive oil! #thankthelordforcostco And since we're talking about foods and you have a special love for Italy, I read an article about how most of the Parmesan cheeses claiming to be real Parmigiana Reggiano are fakes! I feel like I'm full-on adulting talking about these things, so thank you!
