no. 1: deep v-neck one piece (perfect! classic!)
no. 2: ruffle halter maillot
no. 3: vitamin a neutra one piece (definitely has sexy down!)
no. 4: dotty underwire one piece (so cute! or this neon one!)
no. 5: color me bad halter one piece
one-pieces are really in these days, right? i keep seeing them and thinking, “how cute! how sexy! how modest! how cute and sexy and modest!” i think they somehow end up being all three at one time?
in their defense, they’ve really always been around but i’m somehow just noticing. or just considering one for myself? is that what happens when you hit 30? when you eat too many bean burritos? when you birth two babies? i’m not burning my two-pieces just yet, but i do think i’ll make room for a one-piece.
i just bought one for italy (i’d link to it, but it’s already sold out online!) and i had to try it on at least three times to really consider, “is this me? are we doing this, bridget?” i face-timed my sister kate, did a 360 with anders on my hip. if it sounds like it was a serious decision, it was.
what say you? you doin’ it? you always been doin’ it?

I really want a one piece..but I keep telling myself "NOT YET MORGAN. Don't do it until you have to!!" I just think they are so classy looking. And they are getting more and more playful. Like that last one with the cutout, how cute is that?!
Jillian says
I'm going to go scoop up #2 right now!!
bridget says
number two is so cute. more colors online too!

I'm doing it this summer in the Bahamas! I don't want anything falling out while we are beachin' it up!
bridget says
all I read was BAHAMAS! so fun.

I instant fell in love with the dotted one, wow. Now I'm really thinking about it. I alwas got the impression they are underlining me eating too much pizza, but maybe I've tried the wrong ones. And I'm pretty sure there is no need for you, burning your two-pieces yet 😉
bridget says
that one and number one are my faves up there.

I'm 5'5, 110 lbs and I've never worn a bikini. It may be modesty or vanity (my stomach after 4 babies) but I have never felt comfortable in a bikini. But I have always felt confident and flattering enough in my one piece. So their come back is neither here nor there. I never left them! I own nothing as pretty as the four you posted though. I could try harder…

I have been considering the one piece plunge this year too – also my first summer in my 30's, ha! They just seem so classy and comfortable. But, real talk: going to the bathroom in a one piece?! Woof!
bridget says
you bring up a very valid point. you could do the 'ol pull the crotch to the side thing. too much?
Sarah Struthers says
Always been doin' it! Long live the one piece! Here's my favorite place to buy one pieces.

I just got one this year too! Its really fun pattern that also came in a bikini option. But I loved the pattern so much that I had to get it in a one piece so there would be more of it! I wore it this weekend for the first time at my uncle's pool. As a new mom I was pleasantly surprised that my cousins, mid 20's not moms, were also wearing one pieces. We looked so cute and kinda retro. My suit is Nanette Lepore and I posted some pics of it yesterday on my blog…

There really are some cute options in one pieces! I'm terrified of being in a swim suit this summer but, am thankful one pieces are becoming an "in" thing!
Kodi Jensen says
I've never been entirely confident with my stomach, but as a teenager and until last year when I turned 26 I always wore bikinis because…peer pressure I guess? Everyone else was? I still wear them, but I bought a one piece and felt so much more confident and pretty at the beach that I bought another one on clearance this winter!

I love my one pieces.. I always feel confident wherever I am.. it would be weird for me to stand around and talk to people in my bra and underwear and that's how I feel in a bikini except it's got spandex… but a one piece makes me feel a little more covered and I am just so grateful that the fashion world is finally starting to make really cool ones for us one piece people! Anthropologie always has fun ones like this: http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/clothes-swimwear/23716723.jsp#/

The totally obvious thigh gap photoshopping on most of the one pieces you included is KILLING me. So hilarious. But yes – I love a one piece. Mostly on you thin women. 🙂

I went for a one-piece for the first time after my second baby, but I am back in bikinis now. Because of bathroom situation, and I also like getting a little sun on my tummy, and mostly I'm just more comfortable in them. These are cute options though!
Christy says
I love the one-pieces that are out right now! but I literally have not owned a one piece since I was like 10. I've done the tankini, but that feels different somehow. It's honestly not that I think they make me old or anything…I just feel like they aren't always the most flattering. Or maybe it's b/c overweight people seem to wear them more than fit people? But I don't like the idea of tight, wet Lycra being stretched over my midsection! I almost feel like leaving it exposed makes it easier to mask some flab. Weird, right? I just don't know! And as someone else said…peeing!!! I hate the thought of essentially undressing to use the bathroom! And the pull to the side seems messy. On the other hand…you're already wet… Is THAT too much? lol!
Liz Luscomb says
I've always worn one pieces. Not to say I haven't sported the two piece, but it only took a couple of embarrassing mishaps for me to part ways. Even before having kids though, I just always chose the one piece! I especially enjoy them now because there is such a better selection to choose from. 🙂
