there are a lot of ways to do eggs (this being one of my very favorites that we tried to pull off two years ago) and, since the birth of pinterest, ye regular old lazy mother’s dye job (sooooo… basically this post) became about the least popular. i’d like to say i went the throwback route because i felt a real calling to it but… no, let’s just go with that. had nothing to do with the ease of the project.
i bought brown and white eggs (living on the edge!) and the variation is sort of fun. yes, fun is a very relative term. i gave you instructions up there because lord knows none of you have done eggs before ever. thank god you’re here today! your easter eggs would’ve been abysmal–that is, if you’d have been crazy enough to attempt them without directions.
happy easter egg decorating!

Seriously I love your blog and humour. I was having an anxiety attack (hate those post partum hormones that turn me into a shaking mess over anything even remotely worrying.. I digress) .. Point is, coming here and reading your funny comments and seeing your beautiful happy pics and just life happening, unpretentious and fun, snapped me out of the spin out. In fact, your blog has helped get me thru a hard year!!! If I ever met ya, I'd hug ya and call you a friend…… (Now you can be wary of any blonde mum of 5 kids walking towards you who has a kiwi accent – heh).

Your eggs turned out great! This may be hard to believe, but I have actually never died eggs. So thanks for posting about the basics. Clearly, it's still necessary for some of us! Haha!

Ohhhh tear. I had that ring in college and lost it. Happy Easter!

I don't have kiddos yet, but I love the idea of doing something fool-proof and creative with them one day for Easter. Nothing to get too particular with. Your eggs came out really pretty, too! 🙂
Always, Anita

I love this! My new trick this year was baking the eggs to hard boil them. Worked like a charm and avoided having to dry them, etc!
