Anders! Up here, buddy!
Oof. Rough week people. Pretty sure yesterday actually tried to KILL ME. Steve’s sick, I’m sort of sick, Lindsey’s sick, Parker was sick. William, Anders, and Gracie are the only three who’ve been spared thus far (give us time! We’ll give you our disease! Yes, even you Gracie!). We’ve been plowing through the tissues (Puffs Plus only! Get away from me, you sandpaper varieties!), and the Congaplex. So much for all my voodoo fire-cider-salt-lime-juice magic. The results? Disease: 4 / Hunts: 2. Just now I walked up to him locked and loaded with an essential oil respiratory relief spray. “Close your eyes and breathe” as I sprayed it all over his face. He doesn’t even ask questions anymore. Oh, and earlier this week I drove to Target (20 minutes) which is, essentially, the promised land, only to enter the doors and promptly discover I’d left my wallet at home. And because this week wasn’t fun and eventful enough, Parker’s basically decided to potty train and sometimes if we don’t get to him quick enough he starts to clean out the potty himself and you can imagine how that goes. Plus, winter is still sticking around soooo things are really, really good.
Okay, let’s carry on, shall we?
This throwback post. Everyone looks so little. Nostalgia.
Five houseplants that you probably won’t kill (right away). I’d definitely add the snake plant to the list as well as the philodendron selloum (wellllll, look who sounds like she knows a thing or two!).
Moms, no doubt you feel strung out sometimes then read a viral article on Facebook about how FAST THIS TIME WILL GO SO ENJOY EVERY MINUTE. Here’s a different spin: I’m grateful, now fuck off.
This top. This dress!!! Hell, all of it. (There’s a 40% off sale going on over there and while I sometimes link to things and just dream of them, I think I have to place a (small) order. I love everything. How’s their sizing?)
I was sent one of these a few weeks ago and it was a fun bright spot in an otherwise wintry, gray week. The mug was my favorite part! I’ve had coffee out of it every day since.
Carry your yoga mat in style. I love this.
Love has no labels.
Madewell here now. I own zero Madewell items but the rest of you seem to be obsessed. And now, free shipping (& returns). Love Nordstroms.
This house renovation is mind-blowing. But may be old news to most of you. (Where’ve I been?)
And finally, I’m making a bolognese for friends this weekend and am not sure I have THE bolognese recipe in my possession. Do you? Care to share?

I'm sorry to read that disease is continiuing it's triumph. I hope you all recover as soon as possible. I'm the last one standing here and I really hope I did not jinx it with writing it..
My mum usually was the bolognese queen at our house, I'm still struggling to find her mixture, but this one is pretty close to the one we usually make
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/giada-de-laurentiis/simple-bolognese-recipe2.html
(sometimes with hearty red whine added) – although I let it simmer for about two hours minimum and add more tomatos, because the men at my house eat more sauce then pasta 😉
Have a good (and quite) weekend to gain strenght again.

The online reviews from other Loft shoppers are super helpful for knowing when to size up or down. I'm usually hesitant about buying online, but I've placed at least 4 online orders with Loft and have never had to send a thing back!

Hi Bridget – you have the best blog, honestly – you're a girl after my own heart with all of your interests. Thanks for the Lou & Grey Loft steer – saw Laura Lacquer on IG at their store and had never heard of them before but LOVED half of it, and bought a quarter of it. Just kidding. Hope I see you at the Greenland Target sometime, that's my hood. Have a great weekend! (Oh and have you seen the Skihouse Cookbook? It has the best bolognese. http://www.amazon.com/dp/030733998X/?tag=googhydr-20&hvadid=26872347669&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3365529889061448818&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_85h0gt4hoz_b)

Not long ago, I had a bolognese made by a straight up Italian from New York. I can still taste it. I love my patients. My favorite reno going on right now is the Chateau in France that a couple from Australia bought. I can see my girls running around the grounds. It is absolutely perfect.

Also, I'm loving that collection from The Loft. Gorgeous clothes.

Oh Bridget, I just love your blog and everything that you write! (Even when you write about disease!!) My little one and Anders are 11 days apart so I love following you on here and Instagram. I wish we could have play dates! Hope you all feel better soon!

Love the Lou & Grey stuff, maybe I'll finally buy a piece!
I'm a bit of a bolognese connoisseur and have found the Pioneer Woman's recipe is the very best. http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2009/05/ryans-bolognese-sauce/ =)

I own no Madewell things either! let's start a club.
I hope everyone recovers soon.

Love Lou Grey stuff! Their line tends to run a bit big but I think it's suppose to be a bit baggy anyway, own many Lou Grey pieces myself.

I love this recipe from a very good kiwi chef. 🙂 http://chelseawinter.co.nz/spaghetti-bolognese/ also, I must tell you that my husband and I were so inspired by your foyer renovation from a while back, that we totally recreated it in our foyer area! Hopefully you take that has flattering rather than creepy. 🙂 We don't get snow in Auckland, but it's provided a great place for the sun hats and raincoats. Thank you for the inspiration!
