her to me: “i love how it’s easy to talk to you.”
and then…
her to me: “i love how my hair always looks better than yours.”

The crackly, crisp early-morning smell of fall outside with the colorful yet chilly looking leaves that make you glad you've got a huge mug of steaming coffee in your hands and a sleeping cat by your side.
Nora says
When you're running late and catch all the green lights. The sound my baby makes when he's 'singing' himself to sleep. Having a boy old enough to tell genuinely funny, make me laugh, jokes. Having my daughter at the age where she goes nowhere without an armful of her favorites accompanying her ( her punk bear, a Lego girl, a schliech doggy and usually quite a few beautiful pieces of jewelry). Fresh bakery coming out of the oven. A stocked kitchen. Watching the leaves change out my window. Christmas shopping for the ones I love.

Oh i love this! I love being able to look back on my time in a long distance relationship and think about how we made it through! We're three weeks into living with eachother (in the same city!) now and it's just so crazy to think that at one point we went months without seeing eachothers faces, holding hands, or even going on dates. It certainly makes you thankful for each and every little thing you get to do now.
I also love: hersheys kisses at 8am (judge away!), warm sunshine on a cool day, and opening my door to find a package outside.

I love that the 5 year old english bulldog that my fiance and I rescued in March finally feels happy and secure with us and, in my opinion, loves us to the point where she tries to run out the door after us if we try and leave. We then sometimes end up jogging after her as she waddles down the hall to the elevators, so excited to be going with us.

I apologize if this shows up twice. I pushed publish and my computer crashed, so I'm trying again. Here are a few of my current favorites:
* The way my four year-old puts his sentences together, and his sweet voice. The grammar is incorrect, the words are wrong, but those are my favorite parts because they capture his innocence. And it breaks my heart that he's already starting to correct some of his phrases ("Hold you me" is now "Will you hold me?" So sad.).
* Hearing our bulldog snoring when I wake up in the middle of the night. I find it so comforting knowing he's right now to our bed.
* A green smoothie with the perfect combination of spinach, kale, blueberries, raspberries and honey. Best way to start the day.
* My husband's deep voice. It was one of the first things that drew me to him, and after ten years together I still love the sound of it (well, most days. If I'm honest.).
* Feeling my baby move. Aside from the comfort it provides, I love the intimate connection it creates between the two of us.

Watching my three year old Levi sing his little sister Lily, (3 months) a song when I'm not looking and telling her Sweet Dreams and I love you.
I have to say, having your little boy say I love you mama out of nowhere is enough to melt into a puddle on the floor. I love talking to my good friends who are moms, because we can vent about how hectic our lives are, how unappreciated we feel, how hard it is, and then at the end of our conversation we are all teary eyed because we know we love being a mom and adore our kids so much. Quiet mornings when everyone is still asleep. Cups of coffee that can be finished while they are still hot. Chunky sweaters with my baby girl wrapped inside. Making pancakes with my boy. Every day at 5pm when my Husband walks in the door.
I mean this list could go on. Basically being a mom makes you appreciate the little things in life.
So all those little things are the things I love the most.

Those are some good things, for sure!!
Yesterday, as I got my son (third child) up from his name, I couldn't get my nose on his cheek fast enough. I realized, right then and there, that smelling your kids is (when they're 3ish and under… :-)) is one of the most beautiful scents in the world. Each one smells so unique and is just… them. I stood there, my nose to his cheek, as he drowsily stared into space, and tried to put my feelings into words without sounding totally cliché or cheesy, like a lame facebook status: "my baby smells so good!"
Maybe it's not something you can explain. It's simply the reason my husband and I fight over who gets to get the baby from the crib after nap. The reason I don't mind them snuggling into me when they're stranger-shy. The reason I love that they want me when they fall down. Maybe it's not so maternal as it is I'll take any chance I can get to nose dive into their hair, cheeks, necks.
