sweet pillows on lindsey’s bed.
the bubble-blowing one c/o tiny toast!
my mom and parker in the teepee reading norman the doorman
(a really, really cute story if you’re in need of one.)
steve’s the man and snow-blowed three times this last blizzard.
my sister and i brought the kids and dogs to the beach. it was freeeeezing.
we didn’t last long.
i love this picture of my boys.
(and am routinely struck by how darn handsome william is.)
cliiiiiick to read more!
parker really, really didn’t take those shoes off
for a good twenty-four hours.
also, my mom got him this nat geo magazine subscription which he loves looking through.
i started ordering a burger at five guys, thinking parker and i would share
and steve looked at me all, “you sure about that???”
sure enough, we ordered him his own, and he ate the entire thing.
I STAND CORRECTED.
ummmm… don’t even have words.
more reading for mame + parker.
really, really liked reading about the pope in time this month.
i don’t know about you, but he gives me some hope.
does this picture sort of make you want to turn us over and scribble with our hats?
right?
no?
lindsey’s playing with her new rainbow loom here. they’re all the rage.
costco bathroom selfie. not one of our finer moments.
another of the beach in december because it’s really pretty.
hope your 2014’s have been good so far! we’ve been low-key. stiiiiiill spending a lot of time in pajamas (it’s been so dang cold here! like single digits!), building fires, and entertaining. my parents just left, last night i made salad and mac and cheese and we had sweet friends of ours over and tonight i’m making chili and we’re having people over again. we might play some games… william’s pretty keen on the ‘heads up’ game app. i will say, after a lot of nay-saying (let’s play a REAL game, not one on the ipod), it’s pretty fun.
I always love these posts, and yours are just inspiring! X
thank you!!
I saw Choice Map on facebook, and downloaded it! Who invented it?!
jonathan camery-hoggatt!
I need to read that article about the Pope. I'm always delighted to be reminded of how many really GOOD people there are out there.
seriously! especially one who has the eyes of the world on him. i hope he's not too good to be true–but i am thoroughly impressed w/ him so far!
looks like you've been having a great 2014 thus far! all your photos look comfy and cosy. So cute with Parker and the ever-present shoes. The 3 year old I nanny for keeps his shoes on all the time as well!
Hi Bridget! Holy cow, I love your blog! Your photos and style are through-the-roof, awe-inspiring! Please excuse my harmless stalker tendencies as I read through and drool over your blog this weekend. 😉
Hope you're doing well and staying warm in this crazy cold winter we're having!

Crud! I do not know how to make it a clickable link, it seems…you might have to Google that puppy! I'm sorry. : /
This "might" work…sorry, it was gonna bug the life outta me…I Googled hyperlink how-tos. HAHAHA!

As Catholic, I've listened and read much of what the last 3 popes have said. It's not so much that Pope Francis is preaching a different message than John Paul II or Pope Benedict, it's the emphasis and delivery that really stikes a cord with all kinds of people. He is really challenging each of us to be kind, compassionate, simple, and generous. Every since he said talked about wasting food is like stealing from the mouths of the poor, I've tried hard not to be wasteful in that department. I try to eat the left overs and only buy what we need so as not to throw out rotten veggies or fruit or meat at the end of the week. It's sort of a silly change, but I'm using the money we save to support a child in Kenya. And my kids know this and I've seen them more amenable to leftover night. HAven't read the Times article yet, but looking forward to it!
i agree. he's a fresh perspective on the age-old preaching. though i think he may be a little more open-minded then his predecessors? (i grew up catholic–altar girl and all!)
love what your family is doing in the food department!
Pope Francis practices what he preaches and lives the kind of poverty worthy of a servant of Christ. Sometimes the world judges Christians harshly because we talk about brotherly love and yet stand back and live comfortable lives and remain indifferent to the sufferings of others. Especially this can happen in this very materialistic country. Pope Francis lives the teachings and that is powerful.
I think he is open to others and does not think ideological differences should prevent us from loving each other. He encourages all of us to be kind and loving and open to everyone especially those who disagree with our ideas. He makes special mention of reaching out to our brothers and sisters who define themselves as gays and lesbians. At the same time, he continues to define marriage as between one man and one woman in an exclusive life long commitment. I think most people think the two concepts are mutually exclusive and that Christians could never believe this definition of marriage and at the same time love and include the gay community. Pope Francis encourages people to do both because Christ would have done both… He doesn't want our doctrine to isolate us or prevent us from loving others, but he isn't necessarily throwing that doctrine out. If that makes sense.
Bridget, your posts make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! I love seeing into your happy times as a family, it makes me dream about having the same one day. The sleepy photo of Steve and Parker … oh my, I don't have words either, how adorable!!! Cushy cush. I'm super jealous of all your snow too, we have zero.

Gandalf is standing in your living room and your caption is about a rainbow loom……
LOL. I guess I'm used to Gandalf by now. But yes. We've got ourselves a life-size Gandalf. And a rainbow loom.
I am loving your use of plants inside. Let's talk types, please (teepee photo and pope picture)!
sansiveria (the teepee photo. also called mother in law tongue or snake plant and CRAZY EASY) and fiddle leaf fig tree in the pope pic–basically in love with that one. and also easy!
awesome, thanks! My apartment could use a little sprucing up with these babies 🙂
