so, all of that nonsense leads up to these hello products that were recently sent to me. as soon as i opened the box i was like YES. they got the packaging bit down. (apparently the packaging was actually designed by the BMW people!) they were also mentioned in this month’s real simple magazine and real simple’s two thumbs up is like worth eighteen of my friend’s two thumbs up given that all eighteen of those friends have really nice, white teeth.
william and lindsey, ever the eager testers, were happy to try it out. now here’s the thing. we have maaaaaaany a rogue toothpaste cap in our bathrooms. (thank you to my dear mother for letting HER much cleaner bathroom be the host of this here test lab.) but really, open the bathroom drawers and you’ll find, oh, nothing short of 6 old toothpaste caps. and chances are they’re permanently adhered to the corners of the drawer with old, concrete-like toothpaste. fun stuff. grab the chisel! so when i noticed hello’s toothpaste IN A BOTTLE with an ATTACHED CAP that you don’t have to SQUEEZE from the back to the front like you’re milking a cow i thought, “2013 YOU NEVER CEASE TO SURPRISE ME.” seriously, seeeeriously, this isn’t just ad-bridget talking. it is a great idea. steve will be pleased because he recently informed me, “you NEVER put the caps back on the toothpaste tubes.” and i was like “WTH steve, YOU never put the caps back on the toothpaste tubes.” but alas! hello has solved the dilemma. bridget and steve must find something else to fight about!
in concluuuuuusion, i really do suggest you try the hello products. i mean, check out that website alone. simple! clean! just how you like your teeth! available at your local target, folks! and if you go like their facebook page, grab yourself a $1 coupon (like the page and find it under the coupons section!).
this post was sponsored by hello products. thanks for stopping by! and thanks to william and lindsey for being toothpaste models of the day!
don’t you sort of want to try this stuff? and tell me, do you put the cap back on the toothpaste tube?!

I'm with you on great packaging. Though I'm a huge sucker for it and will buy ridiculous things if they look amazing. But this stuff isn't ridiculous as I love my teeth, so I might need to invest in a few things. Thanks for the tip!
bridget says
one of those little breath sprays would look miiiighty cute in alex's purse say i.

I'm going to finish reading the post but I have to comment that we are practically twins. I broke my front tooth while swimming as a kid and had to get root canal and a cap and it doesn't match the rest of my teeth. Someday I'm going to get it fixed, but who has an extra 1600 laying around?
bridget says
i don't have a cap or anything, still my original tooth, but it's totally not the same color as the other one. i'm too afraid to get a cap or anything… gahhhhh. and yes, so expensive!
Kaity says
random fact for your day: be careful with toothpaste that claims to whiten teeth/reduce tarter/etc etc etc. my dentist told me at my most recent appointment that those kinds of things can actually increase sensitivity problems in your teeth – hence the reason why I kept wincing as the hygienist was going to town on my mouth and why I'm now supposed to buy only plain toothpaste [which is hard to track down!]. I'm sure everyone reacts differently to such products so it might not be an issue for you, but consider this a heads-up just in case your kiddos start having sensitivity issues in the future.
bridget says
what?! no! plain toothpaste. what even is that?! give me the WHITENS YOUR TEETH SO THEY GLOW IN THE DARK kind.
Kaity says
also, I agree with you on the packaging thing – these products look seriously cool! and the flavors sound like fun – a nice change from the normal. I mean, grapefruit mint?? I might have to buy some of that!
kristyn says
what cute packaging! i'm a teeth person too–funnily enough, i also had a root canal on my front tooth as well…but they filled it with white so it matches the rest.
and hey, that IS one perfect squirt of toothpaste. geez.
bridget says
what does that mean?! filled it with white?! why didn't mine do that?!?
thank you for appreciating the toothpaste squirt.
Laura {happily ever} Parker says
I specifically buy the toothpaste that has a cap sort of like this one just for that purpose!! These look neat to try – are the in any stores? Or is it online only? I don't imagine myself ordering toothpaste online.
bridget says
see, you're smarter than i! now i realize what a genius idea that cap is! they're in target, duane reades, and walgreens!
(i also don't see myself ordering toothpaste online!)
liciab17 says
Great toothpaste squirt btw.
I'd love to try these, because they don't look as boring as our usual "dental stuff" – can't get them where I live – but at least my husband and our kids still have one classical reason for a bathroom fight 😉

Improve dates?! Haha! Clever marketing!
Megan says
i am allll about this. and i am a leave the cap off type person..AND squeeze from the top type person. It infuriates Stephen.
Devon says
Another teeth brushing related question…do you squeeze the paste from the middle or the bottom? They actually asked us that in our pre-marriage class. As if it actually causes tension in relationships. Well anyways, I squeezed it from the middle and have since changed my ways to avoid any unwanted hostility caused by the toothpaste tube. Thanks for sharing some info about a new and natural product!
bridget says
i think i squeeze from the top? like right under the cap?
who knew it was such a point of contention!?
k8te says
"a human with a sense of humor is the one who wrote it" YES!! i love ad campaigns like that too! and an attached cap?! GENIUS! i am trying to with more natural products lately so i'll have to check this out!
bridget says
yes! like the vitamin water bottle labels? a human! sense of humor!
Libby says
I actually just bought the mint mouthwash from target! it's okay…tastes kinda funky, but most natural products too. I would try the toothpaste too but wish it was flouride free 🙁 I wanted to try the mojito mint but this pregnant lady nearly hurled her guts up just thinking about it at the store lol. Mint it was.
And speaking of natural things…what kind of deodorant do you use?! I'm not sure if you are into natural deoder but thought i'd give the question a whirl 😉 I usually make my own with arrowroot, baking powder and coconut oil but the summer months a)doesnt make it work very well b)it melts into a liquid bc my house gets so warm! I tried Jason naturals (I want aluminum free) but P.U, doesnt work!
bridget says
the grapefruit bit of the mouthwash prob takes some getting used to!
deodorant! i don't use any! if i do (or when i have, i should say) i've used a crystal. but i don't sweat much, so i don't really need it but i remember post pregnancy hormones made me sweat more than usual — crystal it was!
Libby says
crystal?! like you find a crystal and put it in your pit?! haha, do explain! And yeah I usually dont stink at all and dont sweat much, but lately I come home and have to wash everything I wear bc its not so fresh haha. So not cool!
bridget says
the crystal! hahaha.

Oh my wallet be damned, I'm a total sucker for cool packaging!
Also, I'm mighty late to the party, but – wow does Lindsey look just like Steve!
Jennifer says
Toothpaste cap always get put back on 'cause its a flip top. Now if I could get DH to put his toothbrush on the towel I have on my counter & avoid the dreaded toothpaste stains, I'd be happy
bliss says
it is a beautiful dollop of toothpaste.
Melissa says
Yes we always put the cap back on, or the tootpaste gets yucky. Once you get used to doing it there isn't much to think about.
kelly says
who banged her tooth on the bottom of their pool when younger…ME!!!! Drives me crazy that my tooth doesn't match the rest of my mouth!!!
Julia Snyder says
i too had to get a root canal on my front tooth after i fell and hit my tooth when i was 10. it still bugs me that it doesnt match the other teeth, especially when i asked the dentist about getting it whitened, they said it might not be simple, it could have some complications or something so i decided not to. we feel your pain 🙁 i try to not let it bother me because most people probably dont even notice anyway!
Sini says
Mmm looks so pretty! I am super careful with my teeth,so I try to keep it simple but healthy. I do anything to avoid the dentist 😉 I do whiten my teeth but only once in a while. I actually ordered some whitening paste from US as it's not allowed to sell these in Europe (the markets or pharmacies) depending of the amount of peroxide.
