i buy these oats and organic frozen berries from trader joes that we just stick in things
like yogurt, and oatmeal whenever we need.
organic produce is cheaper when frozen —
so this is my fave way to get it (especially if not in season).
also, simmer the oats in organic whole milk —
good fats for young ones (and for all of us, actually).
did you know feta is AMAZING in guacamole?
i didn’t, now i do thanks to a friend, and i do it all the time.
sometimes he’s fickle about guac but usually if it’s on a chip, he’s game.
i buy teddies organic peanut butter (it’s really, really good).
peanuts are one of those highly sprayed crops so it’s good to buy organic.
and sprouted bread — the benefits are many, including easier digestion and more nutrients.
the whole fam eats this bread except lindsey who’s not the hugest fan.
heavier on the peanut butter than the jelly.
(also, the ezekiel raisin bread… yum! toast that up in the mornin’ with some butter. delish + sprouted also!)
cooking chicken in the crockpot then sticking it in the fridge for easy lunch-ing all week long is my favorite thing.
parker has always been a fan of broccoli even though he can be fickle about other veggies.
as with the fruit, i often buy organic frozen veggies–cheap and they keep longer.
i sauté these in pleeeenty of good butter–tastes good and good for you.
so that’s it. nothing earth shattering here
(peanut butter and jelly!? WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT!),
but maaaybe it’s giving one person an idea for the infamous TODDLER MEAL???
(or a few healthier alternatives to the normal stuff)
also, my absolute favorite “to go” container.
i take this with us almost everywhere with snacks and things.
it’s pricey but it’s worth its weight in gold.
i love this thing. (and got mine discounted on zulily awhile back!)
also, woke up to the craziest news this morning. to everyone in boston/boston suburbs: please be smart, stay safe, stay home.
