the kids had all of last week off from school. massachusetts’ public school thing. it’s kind of torture, every single year, because the weather isn’t really nice, and steve never has off this break (can’t college and public school get on the same schedule?!), so we end up doing little things here and there, but mostly trying not to spend a ton of money, and to still be home for dinner when steve gets home. and now, with parker and one wonkin’ midday nap (respect the nap!!), well, enough with my saga… needless to say, we needed some diversions.
i have so few apps, outside of some photo ones, on my iphone. so, when lindsey came home from a friend’s house telling me about the imovie app they were playing with, i was interested. it sounded seriously fun so i checked it out and, indeed it was. they spent, all told, probably a good four to five hours using this app throughout the week and they made some hilarious movie trailers. they took turns as director, and (shocker!) hardly fought at all. i’m chalking it up to the imovie magic! parker even got to star in some of them. they would run downstairs to show me different scenes and we would laugh and laugh. it is such a fun app. i recommend downloading it immediately.
there’ll probably be more of these trailers to come on the blog. they’re still loving this app. but back to school they go, so their stint as director and writer and producer will have to be on hold a bit.
(they totally asked, “will it be on the blog?!” william’s psyched that the one he directed made the final cut. it is pretty darn funny, to us anyway, though they might’ve lost a little steam towards the end. trying to direct an 19-month old proved challenging i think.)
I'm not sure how I came across your blog, but it has quickly become one of my favorites! I loved reading your story with your husband and you are both refreshing and inspiring. Thank you for being real and not fluffing at life.
I love this!! how creative. Make more.
My 18 month old Parker is obsessed with this video. He keeps pointing at my phone and saying more 🙂 you have some talented kiddos!
OMFREAKINGG. Kill me dead. this was AMAZING. Parker is THE cutest. I am watching it again.
this.killed.me. I watched it twice. Parking flying in the air? omg. His little face at the end? running in the superman suit. They kids did such a good job putting this together! I am impressed.
awesome!!! I love this 🙂
@antonia r, thank you! glad to have you!! 🙂
@michelle, i love that we both have a parker about the same age!
@megan, my fave is when he runs across the screen. i die laughing every time.
uh-mazeballs.
so funny! my eldest and his friends love making trailers with iMovie. and love using little brother as the "star", we oddly have an eerily similar video from a couple summer ago with Charlie as an Indian Jones like superhero. rolling a very similar boulder. Andrew now is full a fledged young movie maker. My last blog post has one of his stop motion animation films. He's 10, obsessed with legos and film making so this is what happens. He also just made a documentary film with his Destination Imagination team that will be in a competition next Saturday – it would be right up Linsey and William's alley! Anyway, all this to say iMovie def. sparks the imagination!!!
adorable!
haha Oh my!! I love this!! So often we think, "TECHNOLOGY HAS TAKEN AWAY ALL IMAGINATION!" but this is a great example of incorporating the two. Awesome job, William!
The ILLEST.
The last shot was one of my favorites. Parker has that natural acting charisma 😉
It was also just sweet to picture them making those movies on quiet snow days.
OH, YOU HUNTS.
seriously awesome.
William and Lindsey did such a good job with this, and Parker running across the screen – TOO cute! Thanks for sharing.
They are too funny!!!!! Too CUTE!!! I'm glad you got a few hours of sanity while they worked on this! 😉
This is awesome. Good job, William and Lindsey! And Parker – he definitely has a future as an actor. Or a superhero. Or both.
-Amy
I love it! 🙂
So funny! I have been trying to get my 13 year old girl, 12 year old boy, and 3 year old boy to do the Harlem Shake craze and they won't bite. How rude!
Totally guffaw-worthy at our house! Bravo. Thanks for adding some brightness to an otherwise overly-cold, dreary Idaho day :).
Proof, right there, that kids are awesome. Seriously.
This is great! I love when Parker's "flying"! I remember making up plays and performing them for my parents, so glad that kids are still being creative, you know, not just playing video games and watching tv all day.

You Hunts are too darn cool.

The last shot with Parker in the middle is my fave. WHAT A KID! (And Lindsay and William, too! GOLD!)
So good! Laughed and laughed! Those little speedy legs! 😉
Bridg, this is hilarious…I loved it so much i watched it twice and I should be getting ready for work!!! The two big sibs did an amazing job- please tell them that Beth was very impressed! (especially with the flying scenes) : )
OH! MY! GOD! That was the cutest thing ever.
haha. omg that is so cute.
that is the cutest thing ever!
So funny it is absolutely brilliant one for his wedding day
you are such a wonderful mom/stepmom!
You guys are too much. I am love Parker's little dance moves and his hysterical facial expressions!
Just thought you should know we've been sitting here watching Hunt vimeos as a family tonight. 🙂 Don't feel stalked or anything…
This is so insanely awesome I can't even stand it.
Parker's stance at the end!? The best. All of it. So good.
I can't imagine trying to get my 19 month old to do all these things on cue! Let's see more!
I am finally catching up on reading all of my blogs and I enjoyed this immensely! Go creative kiddos go!
A reliable part of me is deeply jealous for Lux's sake that Parker is growing up with so much stimulation. It's all going to pay off in…ACT scores? I'm sure of it. And I wonder if once Lindsey is off to college, you three empty nesters will be senior citizens motor homing around the country? P wil be along whether he likes it or not!
i want to watch the movie. please, can't wait until this summer, more adventures of super parker, please. pretty please!!!
