{top: vintage}
{skirt: c/o tailor and stylist}
it’s january in massachusetts… (andddd all other places around the globe i’m pretty sure????). what i mean to say is this!! getting outside for pictures is not always do-able. snow! slush! sleet! so, the hunt family living room with a jammied toddler running about will have to do! while parker and his attire aren’t winning any awards (though, he pulls off stripes and bright green socks well, don’t you think?), i still thought he was cute enough to photo bomb a few of them. now! this skirt is my second tailor and stylist piece and, ya’ll know i love me the maxi skirts. this one has promptly been entered into the rotation. it’s thick and well-made (and long!! i’m 5’10” and it actually touches the ground!) and with those cool sort of wings stitched in (there has got to be a more appropriate name for them) that make it sort of flare out if you spin… well those wing-mermaidy-things make it appropriate for date night too.
score for t&s!
I really like the chalkboard wall as a backdrop. I definitely need one of those. Red is definitely your color, and the skirt looks lovely.
I would have called them wing-flare-darts, so yeah. That's probably the real name π
Love Parker, love the skirt, love that it's long. I have that same problem.
You look great. Love the color combination.
@e, if iviebaby-owner is calling them wing-flare-darts then that is their name.
@kimberly, thank you!
@lyndsay, it is quite convenient actually–there was no blank(ish) wall before. now! winter fashion! indoors!
Loving the wing things in the skirt. Not sure that I have seen a maxi skirt with those!
Oooh question for ya. What kind of shoes do you pair well with a maxi in winter, when summery sandals obvi aren't an option. Ankle booties? Flats?
beautiful as always. and i didn't know you were so tall. i'm 5'11"! tall ladies unite!
@sarah marie, good question. i had boots on under these–mid calf ones. i think flats are the best option but sooo not warm of course. so yeah, ankle (or even tall) boots i think work.
@nessa, 5'11"! i rarely come across women taller than me. we've got to stick together!
Also — Are the panel-type things called gores maybe?
@sarah marie, now that is one i haven't heard. buuut you could totally be right.
LOVE these shots! you look gorgeous. parker is just the best. great photo bombing from him!
its not winter in sydney though. 115f today – but i bet thats JUST as hard to get outfit photos in. im actually happy to be back in the freezing london cold! xx
lovvvve it! You are so gorgeous. Seriously!
could that skirt be worn underrrrr a bump? Doing a new collab w my friend at Life in Mod about non-maternity clothes for a pregga π soooo I'm always looking for new outfit options!
@kallah rachel, girl! yes! maxi skirts were my fave while pregnant. i also loved wearing them over the bump. annnnd i'm linking you here: http://itsahuntlife.blogspot.com/2011/05/30-weeks.html
(none of my maxi skirts were maternity either)
whoooa, obsessed. wonder if it would work for for a 5'2" shrimp like me.
@hayley, i got a medium. a small may work! plus, the measurements are on the site. give it a try!
@hayley (plus, if it is too long, i love the maxi skirt belted and pulled up higher look!)
Cuuuuute.
And that applies to the skirt, the shirt, and the photo bomber. Maybe especially the photo bomber. I love the stripes and green socks!
Wait stop I love how you used the chalk board in this. You're a flipping genius.
oh my god, this is ridiculously adorable. you look incredible. and parker… i don't even… he's a peach!
the chalkboard wall is perfect for this sort of thing. get it, girl.
Swoon! Total date night outfit for sure!
Girl! You are the bomb! Love this! I wish I had your height! I need about 7 more inches. SHEESH!
And that Parker, face full of sunshine if I've ever seen it!
I love the chalk wall. I really want one at my house, just gotta find the right spot!
Happy Weekend!
Great outfit! I love the flare on the skirt too so adorable.
oooh! those wing-flare-darts are super hottie mama cute. i love this! that chalkboard wall outfit description thing is geniusβi totally did a double take.
i have to say..while i'd rather dress in your outfit, i believe saturday i will be taking a cue from parker π green socks unite!
@alex, genius?! i'll take it!
@casey ann, i'll prob look about the same this weekend too. π
I love your outfit! I love that wall too! Did you just paint a wall with chalkboard paint? That's such a great idea for little kids too!
@katie edwards, yeah, chalkboard paint is all!
yes! I want to kiss the inventor of long skirts and pants and tops and everything. (fellow 5'10"er over here) xoxo
P.S. You=Meow!
this is such a gorgeous outfit and i absolutely love the chalkboard wall!
favorite part of this post.. "wing-mermaidy-things" π
THAT TOP!!
I mean, I love the skirt, BUT THAT TOP.
The chalkboard wall is the perfect background and Parker is the perfect photo bomber.
Hands down.
I love the sweater from that company you wore a while back. Can I ask what size you wear? Do you have broad shoulders? I'm trying to get the right fit and not have to do a return. Thank you!
@sherry, mine is a small but i think i'd get a medium for length (if i'd known! i have a long torso.). I'm not very broad but i'd say their stuff runs small if anything. goodl uck! its a great sweater.
just loooooove the chalkboard backdrop. you guys are adorable π
guh. that skirt looks so dang good on you. makes me want to get it, but i can already tell it just won't be as slammin on me.
This is so adorable! I love that your living room wall is a blackboard.

Completely unrelated to this post I know – but I was wondering if you were going to start doing Bachelor recaps again? You got me addicted to with Emily's season (I'd never watched it before because we have to download it here in Australia) and now I'm watching Sean's season and it is just not the same without your commentary! (I'm watching the first episode with the bit with Sean & Arie talking right now and I can only imagine what comedy gold you would take out of it.)
@lib, haha, that was a pretty silly scene… so, i think i will do it every few episodes! i'm not caught up to last night's at the moment, but as soon as i am, i will do a post! glad you like them π
girl, you are so cute!

I really like maxi dresses and maxi skirts, too! They're so fun. I'm 6', but I always seem to have a harder time finding pajamas that fit me than maxi skirts. My jammies always shrink, sadly. π
I think you're so beautiful, and I'm enjoying your fashion posts!
thanks so much hannah! and 6'!! i so rarely find women taller than me – i am 5'10"! this maxi skirt is especially long if you're in the market…
