My sister Kate is the best. The bomb! Dot com! My fave! LYLAS (wait a second…)!! Basically, she has a really busy life with an energetic 14-month old, is in the middle of a move, a new job, and making her main man Mike puh-leased (a full-time job alone). But still, she surprised me–the new Mom (kind of… you know what I mean) who was recently feeling all down-and-out (waah, waah) that I didn’t have much family close by to share Parker’s every moment with–and she and her cute ‘lil family drove up for Thanksgiving. She made my heart so happy. Seriously. Best friends that are also sisters are the best kind. Hear hear! Plus, Parker was kind of a bum the last time he and Quinn saw each other and I knew he could do better. When I found out they were coming I was all, “Parker, put your best foot forward this time, dammit! Last time you just laid there!”
We have matching strollers. Cute, I know. And sort of matching sweaters. Cute, I know. Or is it just getting weird and stupid now?
Mah tea. One of my favorites. Get yourself some of that pronto. It’s yum cold too.
Catching up on the Occupy Wall Street latest. Duh, what else?
“Steve! There could be dog-poop in those leaves!”
“Bridget, it’s natural.”
(He’s good for my psycho-self.)
Oh, and his hoot hat? Cause I know you’re gonna ask. He pretty much wears it EVERY DAY thanks to Sarah who sent it to him. And Joy, who, ya know, made it.
Lindsey is obsessed with Kate and asked me if we could have an unofficial “God-parent” ceremony to which Kate and I replied, “YES.” Isn’t that sweet? And just so ya’ll know, we’re not replacing Kate and Mike with already existing God-parents… cause that’d be, um, wrong. I’m pretty sure Lindsey doesn’t have any. Every gal needs herself some God-parents!
“Oh haaay Parker. Aren’t you lookin’ handsome today! Who’s yo’ Daddy?!”
I did not claim to eat healthy all the time. Onion rings, why you gotta be so dern good?!
And that was our weekend. Wahoo!
Elizabeth says
Dammit, Parker. So funny.
I felt the same way on Thanksgiving. Everett didn't give a shit what anybody thought about him…that was obvious by all the screaming, pooting, and refusal to take a nap-ing.
But I know he's cool. And that's all that matters.
Lindsey. I like that girl.
jessica dukes says
i adore your blog. everything about it. and you crack me up! great post.
bridget says
@elizabeth, parker and ee probably talked and were like, "let's mess with those ladies that take care of our EVERY NEED."
@jessica dukes, thanks girl!

Lindsey. Love.
Seeing you and Kate makes me want daughters.
I would like to see more jazz hands out of Kate, though. I know she's got moves. Video with Quinn? Seen it. Loved it.
I'd say Parker pulled his weight this time. I liked his little self in those natural leaves.
Dancing Branflake says
You and your sister are so beautiful! Love that you guys are so close and loving. Isn't Thanksgiving so much more fun with more people, babies, and onion rings?
Melina says
This looks like so much fun!! Surprise family visits are the BEST when you live far away. I'm also loving those gorgeous buildings you're walking by in the stroller pics. Makes me miss New England!

I think you ate at my favorite of all favorite "fast" food seafood places in those last pictures.

@grace, asos, girl!
Brhea {NoPlaceLykeHome} says
My mom put my sister and I in matching clothes until we were 10 and 13. Now the weirdest thing, we often show up to places wearing the same outfits or matching colors. Creeptastic.
Parker is soooooo cute I can't handle it!
So glad you had sister-time. It really is the best 🙂
sara says

Victoria says
first come caller…err..commenter, long time reader. This is such a cute and nice way to get out of the dumps. Best friends knows exactly when you need cheering and what to do and say to brighten the mood.
Also, I love that carrier. Is it a Boba? Anyways, your little one should bit a bit higher. Basically, you should be able to kiss the top of his head. That's about all. Babywearing is the best!!!!
Haley{PairsandPours} says
what kind of boots are those moccasins?! they are amazing, and I now need a pair. fill me in please! 🙂
bridget says
@victoria, it's a beco! not a boba.
@haley, minnetonka!
