Clearly, this is not an ad to live in the Boston area. This is the extended forecast for where I live. And this comes after a winter that poured buckets of snow on us. Well, it doesn’t look like it’s shaping up to be last spring, that is for sure. But, in reality, it’s ok. The reason being? I have so many indoor things on my to-do list. Washing onesies, organizing rooms, vacuuming… and when the sun comes out, on the ever so rare occasion, I get anxious unless I’m out enjoying it. But then I get anxious because things need to get done inside the house. So it’s this vicious circle to which the solution is just for the sun to stay away. It’s pitiful, really.
I have so much updating to do. I had one shower last weekend in the Philadelphia-area thrown by two of my sisters and my mom. It was completely amazing. They outdid themselves. As soon as pictures are loaded, you’ll see. The nursery is coming along quickly and beautifully (and often when I’m not even in the house… I love you, husband!), Nathaniel had prom last night (again, pictures to come!) and a graduation party coming up–many mouths to feed! Guests arriving from out of town! And a messy house, at present, to boot. And for the next two weeks my schedule looks like there isn’t a whole lot of room to spare to do much of anything. So… it’s exciting, it’s busy, it’s hectic… but it’s life. So sun, whether you shine or not, I’ve got work to do. But really, I wouldn’t mind if you showed your face once in awhile around here.
Phew. How are your lives right now? I feel like I’ve been absent in the blog-world lately. Gimme some updates.
We had dreadful weather like that in MN last week. Except it was colder. Thankfully it is sunny and low 70s this week. I'll take it.
Here's to a week of productivity!
Things are pretty similar in Toronto right now. It's been raining since Friday or Saturday and hasn't stopped. It's also in the forecast EVERY day until next Tuesday. Awesome. Looks like I'm not walking around the streets to hand out resumes any time soon! 😐
I've missed you. But you'll be happy to know that the forecast is EXACTLY THE SAME in Newton. Whomp. But at least there's a smidgen of sun on the horizon, so maybe the Boston blogger picnic won't be canceled slash I won't get poured on during the Harpoon race on Sunday.
I hate rain. It ruins perfectly good hair days.
It's raining in so cal too 🙂 I just adore your blog and your sweet stories!
My students (in Boston) are all going NUTSO! Did we move to Seattle and not realize this?
I can't wait to see the photos of the Shower and I wish I could send you a little sunshine. Take care of that belly. xx
@alexandria, i know- it seems as though the entire east coast is getting pummeled (which kind ofm akes me feel good?? misery loves company? or im a bad person)
I didnt realize you were from the Boston area, too! I'm discovering so many other bloggers from this area, it's exciting 🙂 And doesn't it feel like we are never going to escape winter? I've been so upset that I've had to have my heat turned on the last few days, and the rain doesn't help things!
Don't feel bad about your weather! I'm in Albuquerque, and though it's usually sunny, it's not supposed to get above 65-ish for the next few days! :/
Our weather is here is brutal too and I too have a long to-do list that I seem to be putting off. At least these babies have been getting lots of rest lately because as soon as that sun is out, so will I.
You really do have so much going on! I always feel like if I didn't have much to do, I wouldn't get anything done because then I'd have time to procrastinate! All the fun will be so worth it!
You've been missed! But I mean, I guess we can forgive you 🙂 Sorry about the dreary weather…come down south, where it's 80-90 every day!
you have been busy! can't wait to see all the pics too. my little brother (in-law) just graduate from highschool last night…so that is keeping us busy. i hate this weather! boo. we hit a record low yesterday. 🙁 well, i hope you enjoy your day!!!
Our weather has been like this all last week. It was miserable…not to mention didn't help the Mississippi rising.
your weather forecast looks just like ours. paaarty. and you sound so busy! i wish i lived near you so i could help you with something! ahhh, graduation and prom. it seems like ages ago but in the scheme of things, four years isn't that long, right?
yep, it's gross here too! the weather totally led me on last week. psh. unkind.
i'll be prayin for ya this week- that's a ton going on. and with that cute belly, too.
xoxo
can't wait for the pics. i will be refreshing obsessively until you post them. i need some more bridget belly shots!
and megan thought she was the creepy one.
hello fellow bostoner…I am also hating this weather. such a downer! but..i did hear saturday is supposed to be nice, and HEY look at sunday!
blah..its the price we pay for being new englanders, but I wouldnt have it any other way 🙂
xoxoxo
heard – graduation season being married to a youth pastor is…not for the faint of stomach. looking forward to seeing the pics, enjoy the fun!
That's funny. Here where am right now, it's been pretty much sunny everyday, and I've been WANTING it to rain! Which is weird, since I don't like the rain that much.
Hoping there's some sun in your future!
woah, you've got your hands full pretty lady! if you need any help, let me know. i'm really good at scrubbing dishes. 🙂 and i cannot wait for the sun to come out, too. once it does, it is going to be a glorious summer. and for you, in more ways than one!
I feel your pain sister. Mainly because my bones decided they were going to act like a ninety year old yesterday in the snow flurries. Oh did I just say snow? White, fluffy and especially evil when it decides to come hang out in May.
I wish I had your positive(ish) attitude. I don't. I curse the cold. I kicked my Phin's water table on the way to the car, but karma kicked back because the dumb thing is full of frozen water.
Even Martha Stewart is taunting us. Her little publication came in the mail yesterday with the cover story "Summer At Last." Here's hoping Martha has a crystal ball and we can all go outside and ignore our laundry soon!
Updates? Blogger went down. Hard.
I cannot wait to see your shower photos!
so it's not just us with the crap-weather. GOOD.
@mellyb – SNOW?! GOD FORBID IT. seriously. God. talking to you. make it stop.
So, um, maybe I shouldn't tell you that it's 80ish and sunny right now (and I am in my "office," I mean Starbucks…) in Florida? Anyhow, soooo can't wait to see those shower photos! For realz, girl.
Last week the AC in our house broke (we live in South GA). It was like high 90's out. We had about 11 people over at our house for my sister-in-law's grad school graduation. It was miserable. BUT all this week we've had a cold front, so it's actually been nice (even cold sometimes!) in our house with the windows open. I'm considering it a blessing! But hopefully they'll get it fixed soon b/c I think it's back to high 90's on Friday. Oh…Georgia weather.
the west coast has been feeling your pain. nothing but cloudy weather and rain clouds it was getting a bit old so we flew the coup, well drove actually to the prairies. its beautiful out here but i forgot about the mosquitoes!! do they have those out there in boston? i hope you get to bikini and porch it up soon again.
I hope your mom danced at your shower, and that you got pictures of it.
@charmingly ordinary, maybe i shouldn't tell you to SUCK IT.
jk. love ya.
@lovelillian, oh WE'VE GOT mosquitoes alright.
@elizabeth, nope.. tragic now that i think of it. but it was more of a french cafe/ray lamontagne soundtrack goin' on… not pointer sisters jump. next time.
So I just found your blog a couple of days ago thru e tells tales and read the whole thing from the start. I was so sad once I realized that I was up to date 🙁 I love your blog!
Also, I think you should do this.

You're due mid July, right?
I hate having alot of rain!
Man, you sound BUSY! I'm good, busy as well. Enjoying the copious amounts of sunshine we have during Sydney autumns and drinking lots of warm drinks at home. xx
I can completely sympathize with this weather forecast. The one in Michigan is quite similar. I'm ready for spring.. all this rain is terrible! 🙁

Hey Bridget! I've been reading for a while, but don't think I've ever commented. Yeah, this Boston weather SUCKS. I mean, really, I turned on the heat yesterday. Today I wore knit tights and boots. The hell.
Have a great time with all your activities and visitors and fun!
Your weather looks nice compared to mine (Upper MI). I'm wearing sandals tomorrow because we're supposed to hit 50s 🙂 Hope your busy times coming up are fun times! 🙂
Better Than a Milk Mustache
gahhhh… i've been hating this weather 🙁
Just found your blog. I'm from the Boston area too and this weather is horrible. Can't wait to keep reading 🙂
