i’m heading upstairs last night after being out all day. steve’s sitting on the couch downstairs. he yells up, “there might be something for the baby in our room!” i’m expecting there’ll be some cute onesie or a little pair of booties sitting there amongst our bedspread and pillows. but no. there is a little tikes basketball hoop in the corner of our room. “kids love these!” he says.
i’m sure they do, steve, i’m sure they do.
(for the record, it was sweet and i am grateful.
i was just expecting something he could use before the age of four… ohhh husband).
i’m here today too if you want to hear about how legit-crazy i am.

Haha, cute! When I was pregnant Jared sanded the wall in our Phin's room and made a built in chalkboard…at his height. He was super bummed when I pointed out our child wouldn't be able to reach it until he was at least 10.

We've had plastic swords in our possession since our first year of marriage…knowing that we were waiting a few years to get pregnant. Drew got one out the other day to show it to me again and dream about the day when he can have battles with our unborn child.

I made him move it before the babe was born, but Phinny just wants to eat crayons/chalk at this point. I keep trying to tell him that blizzard blue and hot magenta don't go on trees but the kid won't listen.
