question: i am going to blow up a few of our pictures from our family photo shoot… problem is, i don’t have photoshop and i want some cool filters put on them. any of you either do this yourself or know a photographer who does? i sort of know what i want and i can pay, oh yes i can.
Kristin says
I think you can edit with photobucket. You could try that before you pay someone. : )

Have you tried picnik.com? It's a free site where you can upload and edit your photos. I'm not sure what you're looking for, but you can do some nice things if you play around a bit!

http://www.gimp.org/ is free and it is SO similar to photoshop…

I do photo editing, but all these resources mentioned are readily available and easy to use. It sounds like what you're wanting is totally something that you can do yourself if you have a vision, which you do! If you need tips, Google always helps me out. . . there are a million blog posts and online resources that give tutorials on just about any editing thing you want to accomplish. Have fun!

I have the pioneer woman's filters for photoshop. 🙂
I wouldn't recommend using a website because sometimes they shrink your file would would make it grainy when you blow it up.

Great question. I haven't broken down and bought photo shop…although I hear Elements is good and only $99 but I don't know if you can do actions. I can't remember. I have plans to try gimp but I'm sooo lazy!

I do photo retouching, editing and design on the side for a living and have lots of filters or actions, as they call them on Photoshop and would be happy to see if I can help you out…if you still need it! 🙂
However, if you want simple things, there are lots of free sights out there that can do some of the basics for you like Picnik.com, which someone above mentioned, and FotoFlexer.com

Hey! I use picnik.com to edit all my photos. Photoshop is a little out of my price range and picnik has most of the same effects as photoshop.
It's definitely worth a try. I think it's $25 for a year if you want to use all the effects.
Good luck!
