I really miss Italy. I really miss having my husband all to myself. I really miss cappuccino in the morning made by someone other than myself. I miss the pizza. I miss speaking in my very limited Italian. I miss hearing all of the well-versed Italian floating in the breeze beside me. I miss seeing the sun set over the ocean (us East coasters get sunrises over the ocean and I’m just not up that early). I miss the scenery. I miss the train rides and the heavy backpack and even the sweaty pits. I said it once and I will say it again: I miss Italy.
(I miss it so much that I got Under the Tuscan Sun and Nine on Netflix, both of which I’ve already seen, just so I can see Italy again. Depressing. Someone put this girl out of her misery.)

I can totally relate. I miss it too… especially morning cappucinos and night time strolls *sigh* such a magical country 🙂

Under the Tuscan Sun is one of my favorite movies. Are you watching it alone or together?? If together, you totally need an 'Italy evening'… a nice [strong] cocktail (similar to what you enjoyed in Italy), good food, and make a little 'espresso night cap.'
That's what I'd do anyways- bring Italy to you (since you can't go to it).

I feel the same way about Finland (except my list of things I miss are: the bread, the green trees and grass, the clean smell, the sun shining all night long [can you tell I visited in the summer time?]). I also miss having my husband to myself and hearing the language all around me. And it has now been ten year since I was there.
I came here from Cjane's "We're On Our Way Over" post. It is nice to meet you.

If you want to make the ache stronger, Eat, Pray, Love comes out this weekend. The Italy part of the book made me want to visit and eat pizza.

Italy sounds like heaven right about now.

Italy was amazing! I miss it too sometimes, but I am not prepared to go back there right now…I was gorgeous though and the scenery was breathtaking.

Me too me too!! What an incredible place. And such a blessed escape from reality! Everytime I see a glimpse of the coliseum in the preview for Eat Pray Love I get all butterfly-y. I didn't really like the book but I'll see the movie just for Italy!
Noodles and Waffles says
Have you seen Eat, Pray, Love? That might only fuel this longing…

You are totally making me long for a place I've never been. Sigh… I need to rent Under the Tuscan Sun now.

I read a few posts of yours, and I saw this one. I totally understand this feeling. I studied abroad in Spain two years ago and man, oh man I miss it like crazy. It's so nostalgic how long ago it seems I was there though… Which I'm sure you totally understand. I only went to Spain and Germany during my time there but I would love to travel all over the world. Once you start, you just can't stop it seems…
Can't wait to read more of your new posts! 🙂
