as i think of childhood, the music on this cd hums in the background.
do you have one of those?
(i’d be remiss to leave out jt though and s&g. they were and are and always will be there too. that’s james taylor/simon & garfunkel for you non-fans).
Umm, Brooks & Dunn. While most people cringe when I say that, I know you are country-loving over at your house 🙂
i definitely think of s&g but also john denver and neil diamond 🙂
and u2 and pearl jam. and the beatles. all very eclectic.
I know every lyrics to every Billy Joel song. It's not my fault, my mom was a huge fan and played the cassettes in the car constantly! She even record "Billy Joel Super Saturday" from VH1 on VHS and watched it over and over again while she cleaned…
i'm serious. EVERY lyric. EVERY song. I'll always have a soft spot for billy joel.
graceland was mac's childhood soundtrack. it's so cute to hear him sing the songs. his mom used to drive the kids in the minivan singing paul simon for as long as he can remember. my soundtrack was the beatles greatest hits. played on replay for my entire middle school career.
My childhood soundtrack is mix of the following: ACDC, George Strait, Barbara Streisand, and Elton John. Crazy mix!
Graceland was one of the first albums I remember my mother playing for us…in retrospect, all of my closest friends remember their parents playing S&G – I suppose that says something about the way we grew up!
oh paul simon. how i love thee.
my childhood soundtrack was my mother's favorites: kenny g. elton john. billy joel. whitney houston. and mariah carey. oh the sounds of my youth!
bluegrass at my mom's house.
fairly inappropriate rock&roll at my dad's.
Graceland is definitely one of them! I can tie multiple memories to nearly every song.
i totally know what you mean. early DMB and R.E.M. were definitely staples of my childhood. not to mention paul simon and JT 🙂
xo Alison
YES! soundtrack of my childhood too. good taste carmodys.
Elton John, Kenny G, Eagles, Beatles, and Mickey Mouse "Aint it great to be crazy."
But then my teenage sister always had Ace of Base. Whatever happened to them?
My childhood soundtrack is bob dylan. My dad was/is obsessed!
paul simon's graceland (& rhythm of the saints) was the soundtrack of my childhood.
and how things are looking, it may end up as a soundtrack to my 20's. can't get enough of a good thing.
