back in october (same day as these pictures!) steve, parker, and i went into boston for the day. steve was determined to follow the story line of one of his favorite children’s books around the city. a make way for ducklings tour, if you will. if you know and love this book, then this video’s right up your alley.
steve was the sweetest with his determination to connect the dots for parker. and it was so fun watching parker’s face light up when he saw the actual thing that he’d been seeing in his book for months. truth be told, it was really fun watching steve through it all too. we were cutting it dangerously close to nap time by the end, so parker’s excitement waned a bit but steve’s… not a chance.
i think steve would make a really great “official tour guide” if we ever decide to really hit boston hard with the make way for ducklings franchise. shirts, hats, books for all. i think we could do it up.
enjoy!
p.s. huge thanks to the policeman who posed as michael!

That is the sweetest, indeed. When I was little and we would take the red line from Cambridge into Boston, our mom always pointed out the duckling island whenever we crossed the Longfellow bridge. It made trips into town even more special. I love that Steve brought the book!
oh yes he did. he was intent on doing the ducklings-tour. not to be confused with the duck tour.
What an adorable way to explore your city! You guys are amazing! 🙂
This is the sweetest thing I have ever seen!! That connection between father and son is truly special, and when it revolves around a book – be still, my heart.

Are you kidding me with this?! What a sweet sweet idea. Well done Steve! Parker is going to look back on this when he is older and realize (even more than now) what amazing parents he has.
This is just full of the sweetest moments–ever. As a follow up — in the near future — can you please have Steve read his favorite Bill Peet book to Parker on a video. You know how many times I have asked. It will be a close second to this winner! (Steve's MIL)
so good. just gave me goosebumps!
this is absolutely the cutest thing on the internet right now. Maybe even cuter than the toddler and the dog that sleep together. Maybe… 😉

I don't know if this is hormones but this really got my good, Bridget! Sweetest thing I've seen in a LONG time.
I'm sure I missed this originally because I don't generally watch videos at work (where I read blogs! haha) but I just saw Ashley@Hither and Tither post about it and seriously… the cutest!!! Parker pointing at the building at the beginning, OMG.
