shining, shimmering, splendid! Tell me princess, now why did you only just put me on your face? I can open your eyes. Take you wonder by wonder. Over sideways and under on a magic carpet ride!” This is the song I sang to L. the whole way home from LensCrafters after she got her first pair of glasses. The song was supposed to be the glasses singing to her. I changed a few lyrics. Sure, some of the syllables have to be rushed through, but whatever. It makes total sense.
Anyway, she was thrilled. Putting them on, off, on, off: “I can read the sign. I can’t read the sign. I can see the clock. I can’t see the clock.” There was a lot of that happening. She no longer has to sit with her nose glued to the television screen to watch a show. She can see all the various lumps and bumps in her yogurt (a new discovery that doesn’t have me particularly thrilled. She is a food-investigator.). She’ll read the blackboard without scooting her chair close. She can see the outlining of leaves on the trees and each one of Gracie’s single hairs. It’s a whole new world! And that is why I sang the song.
She looks beautiful and those are such a cool glasses:) Sweet post
Kisses
Seeing all the leaves on the trees is what I remember about getting glasses. They look great!
She looks ADORABLE in them! Really, they look great on her! I remeber when I got glasses for the first time around age 8 or 9 – I had TERRIBLE vision and my parents didn't even know it, but after I got those glasses, it really WAS a WHOLE NEW WORLD!!
i was totally singing the Beauty and the Beast songs this weekend while I was baking! "try the grey stuff, it's delicious! don't believe me? ask the dishes!" ah. disney. and the glasses are adorable!
i love glasses. and that song. you're a really good mom.
Lovely glasses:) Such a good Mom, to make her feel so special:)
I didn't realize it was possible to see the leaves on trees until I got glasses. So sweet! Little Linds is growing up so fast!
haha this is awesome. when i was younger, i was jealous of my brother who had glasses and told my mom everyday that i wanted them. what do you know, i now have horrible vision and he no longer needs glasses.
oh the wonders of life!
That is exactly how I felt when I got my first pair of glasses!! Life was in high-definition!
LOVING her glasses!
linds looks super cute. tell her i said so and i'll say it again when i see her next week.
Can't wait to meet her!
also tell her that when she tires of them in her 20's she can just get lasik. take after her mom's coolest friend.
Aw yes! I can completely relate. That was me in about third grade when I first got glasses except hers are much more stylish than mine were. Good choice :]
She looks beautiful and i love the glasses!

They look so good on her!
And that's a very appropriate song! haha I like it!

when my son got his glasses, he was amazed at the things he couldn't see before….and so happy to see them now. i got my glasses in first grade and totally remember the feeling….but i didn't look nearly as good in my glasses as your gal does
