These three are some of my favorite movies of late 2009-2010. I would say our favorites but Steve doesn’t go much for sci-fi so Avatar wasn’t totally his thing (to which I say, you are crazy. Pandora is the most amazing place of all time!). I looooved Julie and Julia – I loved watching them eat the crusty bread with the cheese melted all over it, I loved Meryl Streep’s rendition of Julia Childs’ voice. I loved Avatar and just the imagination behind it. I loved the way the plants lit up at night in Pandora (you know you did too). And lastly, I loved It’s Complicated. From the kitchen to her garden to her bakery, Meryl Streep had the most gorgeous surroundings, Alec Baldwin was pathetic and funny, and you can’t go wrong with Steve Martin, ever. Oh yeah, and the soundtrack. Between some classic oldies, 80s, and Hans Zimmer (my favorite), it was the best. Take a listen for yourself (unfortunately couldn’t find Raphael Saadiq on playlist.com but that’s another good one from this movie).
Pandora was an amazing place…

loved julie and julia too 🙂
I want to see It's Complicated now! And Meryl Streep was fantastic in Julie and Julia!
It's Complicated was so cool to watch:) Such an amazing movie:) Kisses and hugs
I loved It's Complicated..thought it was fantastic. But I think I'm like the only person on the planet who HATED Avatar..I fell asleep in the theatre for a bit too. Plus, me and my boyfriend saw it in 3D and I have this hate for 3D..my boyfriend thinks I'm stupid (ok, not really) and I just don't 'get it'. Whatever.
Julie & Julia was soo amazing. I love how during most of the dialogues they're eating and speaking at the same time 🙂
pandora was so Beautiful, especially at night.
and who doesn't like Hans Zimmer. He his awesome!!
Bridget, you would so fit in at the private school i work at…one of our student's dad won an Oscar for being a lead creator of Pandora….
totally agree with your choices!
"you can't go wrong with Steve Martin, ever" – truer words have never been spoken.
i too LOVED all of these 🙂
i remember a time not too long ago when you gave me beef about avatar. oh how the tables have turned. also, the surroundings in it's complicated are so beautiful because they are in sb. obviously.
love (LOVE) the first 2 – haven't seen the second but anything with meryl and alec is bound to be good in my book 🙂
I LOVED all these movies. But, let's talk about It's Complicated. I mean, did Meryl Streep really need to be remodeling that gorgeous house? No. No she did not. (Still loved the movie, though.)
Sadly, I've seen NONE of these =(
LOVED julie and julia. watching people eat delicious food and talk about with such passion is a favorite thing of mine.
Only saw a little bit of 'Julie and Julia'(didn't like it much at the time, but recently I've become more interested in cooking, so maybe I'd appreciate it more now). Haven't seen the other movies, although I'd love to see 'It's Complicated'. I love anything with Meryl Streep in it!
What about 'Toy Story 3'? I think that was the only movie I saw this year, and I loved it! – I did have a child with me when I watched it, which gave me pass. Would've seen it anyway though!
i just came on back here b/c bridget, i need to hear that playlist again! xo
Just stumbled on to your blog!
hello….and loved that movie too!!!
you can NEVER go wrong with meryl. she's kind of one of my heroes. she was perfection in julie&julia, and oh my gosh it's complicated is HILARIOUS. i want her house, and her bakery. i could just live in that movie.
OMG!! not to copy you but these were my favorite three movies 😉
couldn't agree more with you.
